Happy new year every one. Enjoyed reading all the comments. Loved the pictures of the ball from winepupil.
I will pop a Waterbrook Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve just to be contrary. I have to finish my Lucien Crochet Sancerre first.
I saw someone is having Gaston Chiquet. I had that for Christmas and it was awesome.
    See Ya

Tonight I’ll be packing a 2004 Egelhoff Cab that I first bought on GV’s recommendation on a show from ’07(?). Bought 1/2 case and loved the first three bottles. Big wine with lots of finesse and long finish. Thanks GV for all the entertainment over the past years and looking forward to more in the future! Happy New Year (Gary, just found out I’m going to be a grandfather!!)

    Glen,….winecrazy.com is a loon.

When we speak about centuries we describe them with ordinal numbers, e.g. “seventh century”, “eighteenth century”, “twentieth century.” When you use ordinal numbers you’re suggesting a count from some beginning point.

When we talk about decades we only use cardinal numbers. When we refer to decades we are not counting how many decades there have been since some starting point. Instead we identify decades by referencing the cardinal number in the tens column in the written year.

  • GV and the Gang,

Wishing you all the very best New Year! One of the highlights of 2009 was on our tenth anniversary when Mr. V himself critiqued our favorite Chardonnay from Paso Robles. We will be celebrating with Schramsberg 2000 Reserve and for everyone else in attendance, they will enjoy Laetitia XD Sparkling and J-Davies Cabernet.

    Looking forward to show #800!!!

Delomotte Brut (wine) and Ithaca Brute batch 2 (beer)

Yep, Gary, you are due for another beer review. I will volunteer myself to come down to review beer and explain how the pats will go deep in the playoffs.

    GARY!

I just stumbled across your website and I’ve been scouring the archives for the past three days. I didn’t know anything like this even existed, and I must say, I became a “Vayniac” from the very start. I am but a lowly 21 year old who just began to appreciate wine for more than its alcohol content, and I’ve learned so much already. I will be tuning in multiple times per week, if not daily, from now on. I cannot thank you enough. You make wine tasting and the intricacies of the smells and flavors so accessible to me, a novice even among beginners.

So, yeah, thanks! & Happy new decade!
