Nope, haven't purchased _Crush It_. I know it's listed as “Myth #3” in the description, but I still have to say “I?m happy at my job so this book is irrelevant to me.” Or at least I'm not motivated to purchase it. I do like that it's available for the Kindle, though. May have to check out a free sample.

Sorry Gary, I haven't picked up Crush It. I'm very rarely at a book store (but would probably buy it at the airport if I saw it).

  • bought it for my wife as a gift.

I got it on audiobook from itunes, love it

I can't afford any wines you feature 🙁 Yet there are many wines I think are good at my low price pt. Even enjoy our homeade wine efforts!

  • mukl

    QOTD: I bought a copy

Regarding wine #4, on the nose you said it was tight and had very little going on. But you were able to pick up some characteristics. Then it exploded. I can't tell you how sick I am of wines with a huge nose and then nothing. All show and no go…big nose and then no one home…so annoying. It's so nice to find well rounded wines…rather than the fluff and stuff.

  • pete c

Yes, while visiting with Gary in Napa

  • Rich

    Yeehaw! Go Cali!
QOTD: Yes, got a copy when it first came out.

  • yes

  • j allen

    Gary,
Lurker here. No, don't have the book. Asked for it for Christmas but was not in my stocking. Will get it soon hopefully. Great show.

  • RADV

Nice show Gary. The 3-day delay may have killed it for the first wine… who knows (or maybe we wil know if you taste it again… just to “clear the air” …. )

    QOTD: Yes!

  • Yes

  • Yeah, baby!!! California PN!

QOTD: Not yet. So many books and so little time! 🙂

  • Jaybird76

Yes, I picked up 4 copies

  • QUTD: Yes got it at Barnes & Nobles in Downtown Brooklyn

  • Ryzner

    Gary V.
Good show… You were only close on one of the prices, not on your A game tonight (It showed in the hoops). Anyway, we try our best. I believe the California pinot held up better over three days because they are more extracted and the time took the heat off. You may not liked them as much fresh out of the bottle. Who knows? It is something to think about. And the answer to the question is… Yes, I have purchased “Crush It” and have read the entire book with great interest. Well Done!

  • You’re the best Mott, thanks!

  • You signed my copy of Crush It! in Tampa. I need to get another to read, as I can't bring myself to ruffle the pages of this one. It's sitting under the autographed Wine Library TV TShirt you signed, in the Gary Vaynerchuk shrine I pray to daily.

    What? That's not so weird.

    Twitter name is joshuastreeter.

qotd: Browsed it at Borders. Too much social media hype. I would be interested in your perspective on straight entrepreneurship.

  • Testarossa…..I know this name has to do with the color of the owners hair. I had a conversation with him about it at a trade show.

  • Trev

I wouldn't figure that airing out would have too dramatic of an effect as long as they were corked. Maybe you could re taste them and throw a comment into another video?

qotd: Yup. Bought a signed copy 🙂

Nice show but a shame there weren't Burgundian PN involved because that would have been interesting. Nevertheless good episode.

QOTD. No, can't find it overhere.

  • LonelyGrape

    Definite Crush it purchaser

In my experience “legs”, or the collection of drops on the inside of the glass after swirling, can give you an idea of body and therefore lead you to other indications. However, alcohol of any sort will have legs (any other distilled spirit, particularly scotch). I pay more attention to legs on a glass of scotch than I do wine. I still usually look just for Sh*ts and giggles. If the legs take 5 minutes to reach the surface of the wine, then you might be onto something.

  • markcfromtoronto

Don't have Crush It. Now that I know theres an audiobook, ill have to link that up! thanks

Agree with those wondering if a Burgundy would have done better than even California in this flight . . . .
Yes, I do have Crush It!

  • mischu

Yes. A guy from switzerland – may be important for your country-statistics….;-)

  • Mott

I’m making a change and implementing it to today’s show ep #811. If you could let me know if it works I would appreciate it. Email me directly, cmott@winelibrary.com

  • YES I bought Crush It, and as an entrepreneur PASSIONATE about empowering other entrepreneurs, I consider it mandatory reading if you are serious about success.

Thanks for the great review of my favorite style of wine. Can hardly wait to crack open a Tandem and Testarosa!

  • cellarrat5

you should start a cult. I'll drink the coolaid with you! except it will be CDP instead.

  • angelatcarlson

Yeah, I'm with you DAveAll. Hardbacks don't usually make it onto my bookshelves unless there is no other option. I did have a look through it at the book signing in Berkeley, but since I had to cut out early to be with my family at bedtime, I decided to wait on it.
Also, being the only steady income at the moment limits my “extras”.

BTW, I tried a 1993 Robert Stemmler Sonoma County Pinot Noir last night that I picked up for $3.99 as a tasting experiment that was suprisingly good. The cork was just starting to crumble on the bottom and the flavors may have been a shadow of their former selves, but still drinkable for my palate. Might have to get another bottle as well as the current vintage and do a side-by-side. Hurray for Pinot!

  • QOT”B”: my twitter neam is “Drydrew”

  • teckdeck2008

Qotd: No, but I plan to do so for my next book purchase. I alternate between fiction and non-fiction in an effort to keep my reading material balanced.

  • QOTD: Yes, glad to see California showing our stuff!

  • boomy13

Yes, 2 copies. Why wasnt there any old world PNoir so Cali could have some bigger competition?

  • cusewino

QOTD- yes I bought the book and thought it was interesting

  • jayhitek

Don't be sad Gary! Trash barrel basketball is never a sure thing.
    QOTD: No. I did not.
