This guest is probably okay but Jesus…does he like talking about himself…and, I’m sorry mate, your stories are not the most interesting. GV pretends to be interested but it’s pretty obvious that he’s as bored as hell. A rare dud

Pretty good youtube stuff. Who knew?
Miles, we want to hear from you.

Yo G , When Ya gonna get GREEN DAY on da Show ?????????????????? :O)

  • That was a fantastic episode. I really enjoyed the stories and incorporating music into a wine show really flows together well. I think you hit the nail on the head, Gary, when you described that WLTV is not about wine or business…it's about life. Hearing a great story like Miles told about his music career proves your point about what WLTV is. Great stuff man, keep it up!

  • golflarsen

    Hey…
Not a great selection on the West Coast I am afraid. They have it at Gil Turner's in Hollywood according to wine-searcher. I am based in Europe, so the selection is slightly larger over here but they are geting hard to come by. Should be around 70 bones if you find it in the US. I can also recommend Chateau Potensac 05. Easy to find this one, and at around $25-30 it's far away from a pazzz;) Same owner/proprietor as Leoville Las Cases;)

  • Genuinly a great espisode. Miles a great down to earth character.

In 2001, I poured 2 Mags of 1989 Chasse-Spleen for a Comanderie du Bordeaux function. They were lengthy, concentrated, and delicious! I belie e that I read once, that they are the last property in Moulis, adjacent to Chateau Margaux, in Margaux.
Their outsourced little product, Marquis de Chasse, is the equal to the pourable, dependable Mouton Cadet of Rothschild.

    Thanks for the info!

Now THAT would be the ultimate episod(s), throw a few Vayniacs in there and you could make a week of shows traveling around to various wineries. If you could somehow get Maynard to join in that would be even better!!

After reading both of these epics I am reminded of what Gary and many of the other “legendary” guests often remind us, its fermented grape juice. Don?t get me wrong, I have worked with, on and in wine for about two years now. It is one of my passions in life and I will never stop loving its benefits its ability to connect and its myriad of illusive life lessons. That being said, often times when wine is being enjoyed regardless of what it may be or where it may be from it often times becomes secondary. There are very few circles of friends who JUST sit down and drink wine to talk about wine. I wish this were not the case on occasion but the topic often wanders, even in the circles of the most dedicated or astute wine enthusiasts. Life imitates art/winemaking AND Vice Versa, it is not a one way street.

I actually make a point to read most of her posts, and they are a tad umm eccentric. However, most of the “hardcore” posters are very fluid or succinct in their posts/criticism/complaints of other posters or suggestions on what could/should be done to “improve” the show. I for one welcome someone who is on the fringe.

Her two comments have enlisted more repliers that I have seen since the Buhler Debacle (like Watergate, only a much bigger deal)!!!

    '06 & '08 Burgundy? Infanticide!!!!

Was I out of my head was I out of my mind?
How could I ever have been so blind?
I was waintg for an invitation, but it was hard to find…

Damn, and that was without even looking up lyrics online, I have not heard that song in years! *cellarrat5 pats himself on the back*

  • DanLacher

    Another great story.

QOTD: Last one I had that I just can't get out of my mind is the 2006 Chateau Montviel Pomerol.

Loved this show. Unbelievable story. Gregg Allman on a plane? That's too good for a movie. As an aspiring musician myself, this was my favorite episode in awhile.

QOTD: I'm too young and too poor for that question. Ask me again in 15 years.

Billy Jo likes wine? I would have though he was more of a vodka and rockstar kind of guy, but perhaps I am not giving him enough credit 😉

  • Dude seemed really cool and the stories were fun. I just wasn't in the mood to hear it all today. Liked it way more once the wine came into play.

QOTD: Good question, but I just couldn't tell you the last Bordeaux I've had…
