I think this is the first time GV has changed his score on a brown bag episode for the second wine, after revealing the first. That’s not like him as he usually trusts his initial reaction. Unfortunately two poor wines, but, surprisingly not panned in the usual way.

  • GV without a guest; blind tasting; I'M IN!!!

  • njc2o

    wrong viewing privileges whaaaaat

  • Good, tight show. Haven't heard of or seen either of those producers. Been getting more and more into white Burg so I'm glad I didn't drop $45 on this one.

Pretty pumped right now because I just booked my first ever trip out to NY to go see the M's play the Yankees. Hopefully Lee's on the bump, or still in a Mariner's uniform. Let me know if any Vayniacs have any suggestions on places to stay while I'm in town. And Boston too, as I'm headed there for a few days after.

QOTD: Nothing I'm really looking forward to for summer tv. My show, Breaking Bad, is down to the seaon finale this Sunday.

  • njc2o

anyone have advice about viewing the episodes inside google reader? it comes up, but i hit play and nothin happens

  • njc2o

    oh thank god it works

  • maxmurrey

QOTD: This summer I hope they play some saved by the bell re runs. One of my favorite shows ever. Other than that I love all shows with Rob Dyrdek (MTV)….and maybe some of The Office. re runs are always fine. not much of a tv “planner.” im more of a “flip as i watcher.”

  • tough show. mucho $$, little payback

  • cellarrat5

Yes! the last ep was epic, slow start and them BAM!

  • Allan

    Good show!

Too bad about the Mersault,,,,,, 44,95?? wahooo! xpensive-city-usa! And i wouldn't dream of giving the Sonoma a go either. Over priced and overhyped.

    Qotd: WLTV!!!!!! 🙂

    Cheers!

  • Iron Sheik & Macho Man mention yesterday….Hacksaw “Hohhhh” Jim Duggan today. Need a pro wrastlin' day. Those dudes will come on I bet.

No tv show watch list right now….

  • neilmc

I'd like to say that this discus thing sucks. I used to post all of the time. Too bad. In fact it has turned me off to the point of not watching WLTV like I used to in the past. Gary V, keeping up with all of the Web 2.0 nerds isn't always a good thing. End of rant. have a great day. -Neil

  • indecisive today mr Vaynerchuck, out of practice perhaps 🙂

QOTD: TV in the summer, what kind of country do you live in? Summer sun shines from 3 am 11 pm here so Tv is out of the question. Golf, tarvel, soaking on the terass with a glas, go to a concert, wine and dine the girl, go to the pub, visit relatives, play som outdoor games, go canoeing on the river and just breathe that's summer! TV?

  • njc2o

    qotd: TOP CHEF

  • cellarrat5

This show was refreshing, like a good clean crisp 100% SS Chard. Too bad the wines didn't bring more thunder. Good to see the brown bag thunder raining down on our eyeballs today.

QOTD: Its a tie between Dexter and Californication, both fantastic shows even for the “I don't watchTV snobs” out there. Its not network so arguably these shows are way better than regular TV.

  • b777capt

    Gary,
Very good show. Don't get depressed by wines that show poorly, negative feedback can be just as useful as positive to the wine consumer. I do love the bigger, buttery, oaky chardonnays more than you do so my palate aligns more with Parker but with that bias in mind I can get a good reading on a wine you taste as well. Have you heard of the 3 bagger or the “wolf” date? The 3 bagger is where not only does your partner ave a bag over his/her head, but you do as well and you have a bag ready in case anyone else walks in the room. The wolf is where when you wake up you chew off your arm rather than wake up your partner.

QOTD: I really like the show about the U. S. Marshals and the Closer is good too.

  • Le_M

QOTD: World Cup starting tomorrow, so how can you even ask?

  • Hacksaw: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jim_Duggan WWF 1987?1993

QOTD: Not really a show, but bring on Wimbledon and the US Open.

  • rizzline

I am looking forward to new episodes of SGU and Caprica

  • seb10

    Hi Gary,

A 40 dollar Meursault you didn't like ? Uh, I think oaky smokey fruitbomb kinda overpowered the pallet. Meursault is kinda delicate….
    Love Seb at wijngek.tv

  • QOTD: Caprica, World Cup Football, New episodes of Wallander on Masterpiece Mystery.

Gotta like this 10 minute length episode: tight, focused – like GV's taste in wines.

    Edwardo

  • Whoa… two wines combined at $80 with a major pazzzz… WOW!

    QOTD: The Little Couple…

  • johnfarrin

QOTD: Leverage, Burn Notice, White Collar and So You Think You Can Dance.

  • Redmeat1969

I am totally with you on this…I have had issue with it myself…and it ALWAYS sends me Emails even though I have Email notification turned off…and it tells me EVERY time that my password is incorrect(even though I always make it the same one each time…)…AND I no longer can use my Redmeat name…but Redmeat1969…this is totally lame Gary….

I know for you that are more Web savvy that this just sounds like nit-picking….but to the rest of us it is a major disappointment and deterrent to us coming here…

  • Redmeat1969

GV,,,sorry but I have to complain….this new way of posting comments SUCKS…and thusly I rarely ever comment these days….hell I can't even use my old name…

    QOTD…I do not watch TV…it is a brain rot…

  • JayZee13

I've got a new idea for WLTV based on this show. It has become obvious that KMurph rocks the house (sorry, Ian!). So the next time you do a blind tasting, how about if KMurph predicts what you will score the wines before the show and writes them down in a sealed envelope. Then after you reveal your scores, you can reveal KMurph's predictions. I think this would be a fun addition to any brown bag “blind tasting” show.

BTW, this show reinforced why I am not a Chardonnay fan. I doubt I would have liked either wine. Give me a Chablis from a good producer – please!

QOTD: I don't watch much TV in the summer other than sports. Hmmm. Maybe Dr. Who on the BBC.

  • QOTD; ENTOURAGE!!!!

  • JayZee13

@neilmc – dude, just curious, but what's your complaint about DISQUS? I didn't like it at first, but the threading and such are a nice feature. The only negative for me was that I had to modify my WLTV screen name because DISQUS claimed mine was taken.

  • Love the Hansel Alyce! Sorry you don't. QOTD: Tour de France, British Open, World Cup… no laugh track TV in summer or anytime! Thanks

  • QOTD: Definitely time for the World Cup!! USA! USA! USA!

  • dsallen

I'm with you on the acid, Gary – I gotta have at least two lemon or orange slices or something like that in my water when I go out!

QOTD: The new Anthony Bourdain and Andrew Zimmern shows on Travel Channel!

  • neilmc

1.) Logging on to Discus can take some time before it recognizes my username and password (for instance today I would have been the 3rd poster in the comments section it turns out that I was 16th. 2.) I don't like to get zillions of email is my inbox that I have to delete.

If you look at other comments below you can see that people are not having a overall good time with Discus. I have posted several times only to give up because logging on to Discus was a problem, hence no comment. The net result is not posting because of previous experiences. Bottom line: I liked the old system better.

  • PurpleGrillz

GV is bummed for the chard show.

  • PurpleGrillz

sorry QOTD… Mercer County Community Events channel.. awesome jazz in the background

  • laurieinvt

Hey, now! We're not snobs! (or I'm not, at any rate) We just make different choices about what we do with our time!

  • QOTD: True Blood!!!!

  • QOTD: I am most excited to watch the World Cup!!!!!!!!!!

  • NorCalKing

Discus says I can't be King anymore. Bummer for me and my parents, grandparents, etc.

b777capt- I agree that my tastes align more with Parker than the also Great Gary V. Further, I think I'm more critical of reds than whites. Anyone else?
I thought a triple bagger was, one for you, your partner, and the dog so the poor pooch won't get scared. Just what I heard.

QOTD-My home came with an antennae. I hooked into it and now I'm one of those holdouts using a digital converter box. The money saved on cable is all spent on vino.

  • Lb_in_KS

qotd… I haven't scoped the summer shows, I am however, bummed that “Justified” is over.

  • I love the big buttery Chards… I never like then till they get creamy at the higher price points…
    ATEAM movie coming!!

  • winecrazy

Walter Hanzell didn't impress me either at the Polaner tasting …..yuk!!!! Can't believe these people charge all that……for not all that wine.

    QOTD: WineLibraryTV

  • AntonT

Good QOTD!! Im excited to watch Leverage, Burn Notice, and WHITE COLLAR!!

  • AntonT

where in kansas are you from? Im From Johnson County.

  • laurieinvt

I have trouble getting excited about chardonnay in general, but a bummer today just the same…

QOTD: I'm excited for longer days and being outdoors. Not a lot of time for TV- that's why we have an antenna instead of satellite. I will, however have to get some CD's and work a trade to have a friend DVR any World Cup games she possibly can. Those I'll watch!
