Love the style of this show. Want to see more of this. This episode affirmed why I don't pay $$ for Burgundy I can't taste first.

  • This is the kind of episode that got me hooked in the first place. Stay with it.

Your the best man! Keep doing what your doing.

That style of pinot from St. Georges is good to try if your a Cab. drinker.

    qotp; Don't know yet.

  • Yes bringing the burgundian thunder, and this is why i love winelibrary. Gary V. breaking down burgundies so we don't waste are money on poor efforts.

QOTD: Having a big fouth and going to pop open the 06 Fat bastard Rose. Yes I bought cause of the label, sue me, something about a Hippo on a wine label that screams common man.

Can we PLEASE extend the CKC age range to 28??? Otherwise, im just living in denial!

  • drt999

6 guests the rest of the year? I guess that means 6 guests by the end of July! Still, I look forward to those soon-to-be-legendary shows!
QOTD — wine for the 4th of July? Sorry, Porter & Ball Park franks!

  • TimF

Thanks for the episode. I really like Nuits St. George. We've done at least one NSG tasting here in Chicago in the last year.

  • Yeah, we have the old Gary back!!!

  • Britt Bacon

Great “no love handles” show. These “tight” shows are cool, but I have to say I also enjoy your interviews with guests. As you get more successful be careful of the people who won't want you to change. I've seen this a lot in the music business (“I liked their first album, but then they sold out”), but don't be afraid to keep stretching and growing your abilities.
QOTD I'm all about the CΓ΄tes du RhΓ΄nes right now…

  • njc2o

man what's with gary's obsession with first time viewers this episode.. WHAT'S GOING ON

  • paulkochevar

Newbie question…2006 Burg's…how long were they sitting before tasting? Do we care that much?

Back to basics…great first step towards legendary! πŸ˜‰

QOTD: Sharing some Italian wines that none of (family & friends) have tasted before…Brunellos and some Rosso di Mont's

  • dicksyncrude

    Hey Gary
Our national holiday in Canada is July 1; I'm sharing Chateau Pesquie Quintessence. I suppose in honour of one of our country's founding nations. Dug your show today, but don't give up on the Kermit Lynch type of guest shows please. A road show to the Okanagan would be cool too. TTFN.

  • njc2o

QOTD: can't wait to get the stuff my father and i have ordered from WL… lots of good napa cabs (his price range) and cindy stuff (my price range) .. can't ship during the summer, and i'm aactually pondering making a NYC trip after the bar exam to pick up the stuff

    BOOZE BASED ROAD TRIP

  • TimF

Please continue to dis Burgundy. You were so contradictory in this episode. Why do you want darker Pinot? These wines are four years old and the reason people love Burgundy is because what happens when they age — you know that. Falling into the same traps as RP, my friend.

  • Have you ever had any of the Damilano Barolos before? one of the stores I shop at had an 01 on the shelf I was curious about.

  • How do you think the 07 stacks up against the past few vintages of Juan Gil? I wasn’t as enthused with the 07 as I had been with the past 3 vintages.

  • mattgmann

Thanks for the show G. I almost bought a Nuits St George over the weekend, but didn't pull the trigger. I'm actually pretty down on burgundy and Pinot in general these days. I don't remember the last bottle I wasn't disappointed in.

I did however pick up a killer CdR. Mon Couer 2007 by JL Chave. Pricey for a CdR, but a real winner. Super complex. Also had a cheap Monastrell, Juan Gil Jumilla 2007, that was very good.
