  • i know that PINEAU D’ANIS comes from the loire, and i think you need to try a few of them on your show.

Like the show with more time. I like drink a glass of wine while am watching your show. I feel it’s entertaining and educational that way . I like the “FLUFF” don’t change it. Wine library tv foundation was built on “FLUFF” and education. Please don’t change it.

Good episode, good format, but I think to key to success is the variety. Blind tastings one day, guest the next, Sir Gary (every so often), your dad (more often than Sir Gary) it’s all good.

QOTD – Love Muscadet from the Loire Valley

  • Benfranco

Gary I would love this format at least two times per week… Really good info… Loire, great Rieslings…

I am back to work this week at school, so I’m just catching up with this week’s episodes. Because I’m often crunched for time, I like the shorter format. I liked the in depth look at one area and wine.

    Gary,

This short format is good, but variety is key: blind tastings, guests, focused format, etc. Keep it all coming! I like that, in this format, you cover wines that might not make it to a larger show format. Wines like this and the Cahors are good ones to cover in this format, in my opinion.

QOTD: My main experience of Loire Valley wines is Muscadet de Sevre, which was my epiphany white wine during a business lunch in Georgetown several years ago (only drank reds prior). It is now my go-to summer white: crisp, clean, flavorful and refreshing. Everyone I have introduced to it has enjoyed it and you can’t beat the value.

Gary, this is a fun format…but let’s be honest…I like things to get mixed up a bit. How many vertical tastings have you done? I like guests…I like some long shows too! When was the last time you were on the laid-back couch with a guest? I like the regular changes…when things stay standard or cease to change I get bored. I also loose interest if it goes more than 3-4 days without a show. Just giving you feedback…I’m not complaining. I’ve been watching since the first Thanksgiving show and I continue to watch on a regular basis. It’s the random changes…the beer tastings…the cheese tastings…guests….all that “and a bag of chips” that keeps me engaged in the show.

Good luck with the radio show. I won’t pay for the radio…just like I’m not willing to pay for cable TV. I wish you all the success…thanks for the continued effort!

Love dropping the knowledge on the Loire.
    Love the blinds the most.
Mixing it up is best – like many others have said.

I like the new format. I like when you stay on topic (wine that is) as opposed to the New York Jets etc. People actually come here for your wine knowledge, not the other stuff.

I like the factual info, prefer the shows to be slightly longer – 10-15 min is good for me; a bit of fluff is fine!
What do I know about the Loire Valley? I know that I love the wines! Sweet, red, white or sparkling its gotta be one of my favourite areas to buy in France. Perfect food wines.

I prefer a bit longer shows.. this format is still ok, but I would rather see 3 wines of the same grape/region than just 1. Gives much more perspective.

Like the short, informative info ~ it’s like just the faq’s man ~ a bit of background, taste and rating.

When you say Loire I think Vouvray, Put some of those wines on TV…
Like the 5 min format very much. I am weeks behind as you can see, if it’s short I can catch up..:))

  • QOTD: How do I like the short and heavy tasting note format? It’s good, I think we need both. Some good wine reviews that we can use for buying purposes, and some more laid back Friday style to keep it fun.

  • Like this format. Did not know about Savenniere before watching this video. When I think of Loire I think of Sancerre and Pouilly Fumé!

  • Anonymous

hi gary. i think one wine is too short.

  • XXXXX

I love the Loire. It seems to have escaped the “new world” style trends. I love white wines anyway and Chenin is always an interesting grape and way under rated.

I like this style of shows, I wish you spent just a min or two in more detail of the region and winery. I love fun facts!
