Ok! That's it! *throws down gauntlet* I Challenge you Gary V! If the Lions win 1 of their last 2 games, I want 1 week of nothing but wines from not well known areas. NO France, NO California, NO Italy, NO Spain, NO Argentina and NO Australia. I don't want to hear a peep about Rhone or Napa or Loire…. If the Lions win 2 of their last 2 games, I want 2 weeks of it.

How about that Lightening to your Thunder. Ka-blam. I think I started a brush fire.

QOTD: A Christmas Story. I have seen it probably 40-50 times, but every time I see it, something new pops out to me. I’m sure the fact that I was 9 years old the year the movie is depicting has a lot to do with my liking it. I am amazed at how close the feelings and emotions and characterizations are to my own experiences.

  • What area do you suggest then? England, Chile, Canada, or a safe bet Portugal? Why not China?

  • Anonymous

    Very good episode.

Will look for the St. Cosme.

QOTD – The original Scrooge or the newer version with Patrick Steward. Do enjoy “It’s a Wonderful Life” Interestingly it was not a big hit until reruns in the 60’s.

  • God jul! 🙂

Have a good one AndersN. I hope you get lot’s of gifts from the Jultomten. And, hope he has a liquor license. ;P

  • Love the brown bags, Vee! …Movie? I’m sayin’ old school-March of the Wooden Soldiers and the “I want to be…a DENTIST!” flick…new school-Fred Claus.
    Happy Holidays & thanks again!

  • It just took me 20 minutes to sign in. Finally had to go to the Disqus site and logout and then login again. Weird. Anyhooo…

Love this show. Love St. Cosme wines!

QotD: A Christmas Story (with The Bishop’s Wife as a close second…if you are happily married, watch this one with your wife!!)

I forgot to add my wine comments. I’m glad the CDP blanc won. It is one of my favorite type white wines. I love its minerality and acidity, and the flavors of the Southern Rhone varietals.

  • I could watch A Christmas Story over and over and over…in fact, I have. Now that we finally have an HD TV, I need to get a DVD…still using the VHS format…damn.

    A Christmas Story.

good episode. I don’t drink enough Rhone variety whites. Time to start changing that. Thanks. Now if only you’ll do a Madeira episode someday. I didn’t mention it in the forum because you said to link to wines that WL carries, and WL has surprisingly few whenever I look.

QOTD: I love the brown bags, Gary! My favorite holiday movie would have to be a tie between National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation, Love Actually, and It’s a Wonderful Life. I honestly can’t choose between the three of them, I’ve already watched them all multiple times. I also can honestly say that I haven’t tried a lot of Southern French whites. A new category for me to sink my teeth into. Happy Holidays, Gary!
