I haven’t been around in a while, so it’s great to come back the brown bags. Great idea for Southern France whites and was impressed at the value of the winner! Will seek it out and give it a try. Love the way Gary said “ash”….lol.

QOTD: Holidays produce great movies. I’m going to have to go with Christmas Vacation. Running a close second is Bad Santa. Of course the staples are Home Alone 1 and 2, as well as, the classics!

MERRY CHRISTMAS and Happy Holidays, WLTV and the Gang!!!!!!!!!!

  • Cubatobaco (Ray)

Forgot to mention, ‘A Christmas Carol” staring George C. Scott. He made the best one in my honest opinion.

QOTD: It’s a dead heat between Nat. Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation and Scrooged. Chevy Chase or Bill Murray, you can’t go wrong.

  • Like this short show. Blind is always good, and glad to see you found a true bargain!

    QOTD: definitely “A Christmas Story”

I am usually a fan of trying new varietals, discovering a new wine is what I like most about wine, but gotta say not a fan of viognier which I find kinda funky on the nose and in the mouth, also has a couple of expensive white cdp and was not impressed, anyways Saint-Cosme is The epic domaine of Gigondas but because I live in Qc I only get their red gigondas and their deux albions, would’ve liked to try the white, just to confirm or not that I don’t like the Rhone whites but….

Best christmas movie has gotta be the Scrooge cartoon, seen it every year for the past 20 yrs at least.

That was fun and interesting! I’ll have to keep an eye out for the St. Cosme.
QOTD: When I was 10 years old it would’ve been Mr. Magoo’s Christmas Carol, now it’s Miracle on 34th Street. (one of the few things the who;e family agrees on!)
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to all!

  • Well…if you need anyone, you know, to take the chenin blancs or sparklers off your hands. Who am I not to help out…tis the season.

QOTD: A Christmas Story followed by Miracle on 34th Street,

  • I’m drinking a cheap red wine with a Rooster on the bottle. It is the #1 best seller at World Market. (Gary probably doesn’t sell this crap but it probably goes good with Captain Crunch.) Can you guess what it is? I’m enjoying it with some blue cheese! So much for the old diet. Last night I celebrated with Champagne. Check out my video about “Celebrating the Small Stuff!” http://www.restorationofspirit.com/profiles/blogs/celebrate-the-small-stuff
    Happy Drinking!!

Kudos for another good show Gary, but…. at 3:55 to 3:57 you’re feeling the front of the bottle and at 3:58 you declare that you think it might be a white CdP. I think I could do that too if I felt the bottle. 😉

Favorite Christmas movie? Gotta be “A Christmas Story.” I really identify with that one. Yours might be “Frosty” but I’ll bet I’ve watched it more this year than you by a long ways. My three year old granddaughter asked to watch that every time she came over to our house from through early May this year (about 5 times a week)… and she rediscovered it at Thanksgiving and has watched it several times again since then.

  • Saint Cosme, Got It! ( I am going to seek this one out ).

QOTD: Oh man, holiday movies go from the very bad to the very artistic, and I enjoy almost all of them: comedies, drama, classics. I don’t watch as much anymore but I do enjoy a good time from filmed entertainment during the holidays occasionally…

Saint Cosme, man hope those agents bring in the red I know they have the whites
qotd: always liked that old puppet one rudolf?

Merry Christmas GV. I know you have a tree :). I just want to say how much i appreciate your show and how you have expanded my palate. I was a Cab/Bordeaux fan. Now im drinking Pinot, Merlot, Tempranillo, Verdiccio, Proseco, Malbec it goes on and so many more. Because of your I have learned more about wine that we all love and have spread the word to friends. Give my love to the Vaynerchuk family. Peace.

I just had the 2009 St Cosme Cotes du Rhone rouge and the 2008 Saint Cosme Cote Rotie. They were great. Sorry I missed the blanc.
I’m really sick of Christmas music and Christmas movies. I just like the visuals – trees, wreaths, poinsettias, presents, etc.

A little more excitement today, ME LIKES!!!!!!!! Love’n the Brown Bags and always love when you tell it like it is GV! Being “FRICK’N PUMPED” is the best! I will try and “Find It, Try IT, Love It, Cherish It, Hold It Like a Baby, and Drink It”! AWWWWWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

QOTD: There are soooo many, but, “White Christmas” classic!

  • Super pumped about the Saint Cosme. I had a Roussanne-Viognier blend from South Africa a few months ago and have been hooked on those varietals ever since.

  • Randall

Ah, yes… the world’s great producers of ‘Ice Wine’…

    🙂

  • Home Alone! I forgot about that one. I can’t tell you how many times I have seen that movie. Love it

  • Gary,

Great show, QOTD I didn’t see anyone with my favorite: How the Grinch Stole Christmas the 1966 version.

  • Paul Sheridan

QOTD: Die Hard, and don’t tell me that’s not a Christmas movie.

  • You don’t really think you’ll win. 😉

  • *tears up* you boys make me so happy. 😀
