I’ve been wanting to try more pinots from oregon but they’ve been out of my price range for a lot of the more interesting ones. will definitely be checking these out. Great episode.

  • Cubatobaco (Ray)

How’s it going, Glen? Still drinking big Cabs? Anything new I need to try?

  • Hey Gary,

GREAT SHOW. Focused and great pace to the episode. Early start too! I hope it is not too early to be thinking about a Friday appearance–the couch, a pack of hockey cards and some Grower Champagne?

QOTD: Give Coltrane Motion a shot! There music has a decent range for a two person band.

Willamette Valley Pinot is an interesting wine category. Have found it to be solid but not as deep and soulful as Burgundy can be. Looking forward to seeing the comments from the Vayniacs for rock star Oregon Pinot that should be added to the drink list. Closest think I have had to date is St. Innocent Shea Vineyard pinot which is pretty good 🙂

QOTD – I am enjoying the new Eminem and Dre song “I need a Doctor”. Check it out. Hard to get it out of your head once it has found its way in there!

    Cheers!

  • I’d love to get your thoughts on a new sleeper from Willamette by the name of WildAire. A solid QPR at $20.

  • MattB

David – great call on the Decemberists – quality tunes 🙂 Cheers!

    Always Ray..!!!

I’m liking the Conn Valey Eloge 2007, Crocker & Starr Stone PLace 2007, Setti Ponti Oreno 2005, Cliff Lede Poetry 2007, Jonata El Desafio de Jonata & the syrah is good too La Sangre de Jonata & while you’re at it try this one…. 2007 La Fuerza de Jonata Petit Verdot…Yumm!!! That should keep you busy…Let me know if and when you have them.

  • Great call, what a great album. There are some great B-Sides for that album surfacing, the best being a cover of Row Jimmy by the Dead, if you haven’t heard it check it out ASAP, I have listened to it probably 10 times today.

  • Thanks for all the great comments about our Willamette Valley! But, there are way more than 200 wineries in the Willamette Valley. So many of us are small, micro producers that are creating less than 1000 cases under custom crush contracts. Were you counting brick and mortar wineries or licensed wineries?

Guess it is about time I tried Pinot again. Never really been impresseed as I am used to bigger wines, but really am still a novece. The ones I have had in the past have really turned me off. I’ll give them another chance. Price is always a factor though.
