Dang, you just cost me some money, bro…lol! Conn Valley is fantastic, so that knocks one off the list. Time to go shopping! Thanks! I’ll keep you posted….

Love to see you do a Willamette show. was just there this past fall. I have been a club member of Adelsheim for several years. Spent some time there on my trip. GV- you have to pronounce it properly. It is pronounced Adels-heim (not adel-sheim).
Would have liked to see you taste one of their reserve/single vineyard bottlings (2008). Noticed you tasted their 09 compared to the other 2 wines being 08. 2008 is regarded as a heralded vintage in Willamette. Anyways great show. Enjoyed it.

  • UCD CKC shout out! Come visit Gary. You gotta see our new vineyard and winery. Nicest winery in the nation. It’s energy POSITIVE!!

Gotta plug the 08 Pinots from Oregon. I’ve had two and they were both AMAZING. GV is right, anything over 20 and under 40 bones is where it is at. They are dying to be paired with a wild mushroom pizza.

QOTD: Little People- Start Shootin. Find them on grooveshark. A little electronica to brighten the mind.

Very good show Gary, that last one looked like it had some Petit Verdot in it as it was much darker than the other two.

    Way good!

  • Thanks a bunch!

  • Awesome show Gary. The most interesting wine I have ever had is a pinot noir from southern Oregon, the ’02 vintage. There was a huge forest fire that summer and the wine tastes like it!

  • This. I can’t get enough Mumford & Sons.

  • Very cool show. I love Oregon (and Willamette) Pinot Noir. QOTD: Some day my Prince will come (Disney Jazz) – Dave Brubeck

Nice show. Was hoping for some GV comments on the 2008 and 2009 Oregon vintages. Am having excellent luck with the ’08s after being disappointed with the ’07s, and haven’t yet formed an opinion based on the dozen or so ’09s I’ve sampled.

I have had the Lemelson Thea’s and would go 89 points on that one. It is full with a nice flavor profile but as GV noted lacks detail and finesse. I can’t believe GV referenced Silver Oak, a little over the top there maybe ๐Ÿ˜‰

My go to under $30 PNs is Patty Green’s Estate. If you search you can also find her Croft and Eason single vineyards under $30, which to me is just remarkable QPR.

QOTD: Ever since I went to his concert in NYC back in December, Prince’s albums are on permanent rotation in my car… Almost every song is a total master piece in my eyes/ears… Favorite at this time is probably Thieves In The Temple… But… “too many hits”, as he himself said… ๐Ÿ™‚

  • Since my brother lives on the Willamette I’m going there i october. Pinot’s are big I get it and I looking forward to visit, taste and maybe play a round of golf:)
Had som from Bergstrom and Elk Cove and they have been really good, really good.
QOTD: Song? I’m listening to Jussi Bjรถrling at the moment. wolrd greatest tenor all times. Itunes, don’t use that.

QOTD: I know, I know. I’m a loser but I don’t really like music. In the last month I did listen to a little Derek Webb. He’s nice.

  • Awesome! I’m currently living in the Umpqua Valley wine region of Oregon, and going to school, and we literally just read about the Willamette Valley last week in one of my classes. great show! I love pinot, I love Oregon pinot, I’m going to try these three wines. Thanks Gary!

QOTD: i was listening to Russian Circles today, a 3-piece instrumental progressive rock band out of Chicago, really beautiful stuff.

  • You were just ready to pounce on #1 today huh?

  • Seconded, on the Patricia Green!

Ohhh my, U are going safe (and I understand why), and some how I like it very much. White Burgundy and Oregon Pinot. Hmmm, nice style, but we have done it before, but again, whats not to like?
QOTD: Jason Mraz -The Remedy (I Won’t Worry) and I’m yours. Obsessed with Jason Mraz these days. And remember: always go live when its Jason Mraz. This is a fav.: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LYhrYHmUPn0&feature=related

Yeah Baby, Willamette Valley and Pinot’s! “You the Man G”! Always Love “The Big Ass Glass”!

Good Show! Enjoyed it very much. My brother lives out that way in Medford and everytime I see him or talk to him he is always pushing the Willamette Valley. I have been looking but no buying. Great info and felt the love. Big PN fan. I will have to make some purchases of W.V. the next time at the shop.

    QOTD: Anything Ne Yo

    Cool. no problem.
Yeah- had a great trip out there this past Oct for my bday.
Learned lot’s of great info and heard continuously about the 2008 vintage.
Many wineries out there are already sold out of their 2008 (which may be why Gary tasted Adelsheim 09)

    LMAO!

  • Great show, haven’t had many wines from those producers, but OR Pinot is always in my wheelhouse. And like you said for 20 bones or so those are great qprs for pinot, hard to find anything under 30 that approaches 90 on a regular basis these days.

    QOTD: Blood by the Dears

It is a great version indeed! But Pavarotti man, Pavarotti…. ? Just listen…
