  • I really like Oregon Pinot, but I agree that before you get up to the good stuff you’re going to have to shell out some US bones. These are killer: Ken Wright, Sineann, Penner-Ash, Beaux Freres, and Elk Cove.

    Adels-heim – think and say as two words: Adels (rhymes with paddles). Heim.

    It was a revelation to me at their winery. Their wine director who was giving us a tour and hung out with us during lunch said it a few times and finally I was like wait a minute. How are you saying the name? She said it and I was like.. OMG I have been pronouncing it wrong all of these years. She just laughed and said most do. So it became the joke/theme of the remainder of our trip that weekend.

    Nothing new for me. I still listen to stuff from the 70’s and 80’s. Like the Adelsheim, good value wine, readily available, and they also make a killer Pinot Gris.

  • Being a member of the Oregon Pinot Noir Club, I have tried these wines numerous times and amazes me how close your palate is to mine. These wines used to fetch 30-50 bones not too long ago and now less than 20 from The Lib makes them absolute steals. Agree, the Benton Lane is the best of trio, well, at least for me.

    I remember having the BL with salmon on a cedar plank during my trip to the Willamette Valley a few years ago and it was absolutely orgasmic. Duck would be the bomb too.

    QOTD: Though my genre is usually Classical, I watched this group (Muse) during the Grammys and I can’t get this song out of my head. These guys are realllllly good. Almost “old school.”

    Great show. Love the Adelsheim, there is a ton of value packed in that bottle. Great info too. The more Oregon the better! Rogue Valley is getting pretty hot—that would be a cool show.
