Gary Vaynerchuk meets up with the second group, including Smokenmirrors, SS Chris, Kahuna, and Brooklyn Paul. They all picked Napa Cabernets and tasted through these four high end reds. This is the second of four shows.

    QOTD4: The last Napa Cab I had was Starmont Cabernet Sauvignon. Not a bad effort.

    qotd 1: The Yankee’s can tongue-punch an elephant in the fart-box.
    qotd 2: Whatever will keep SS Chris complaining the longest.
    qotd 3: Mott. Even in a 2 on 1.
    qotd 4:Clos Pegase 07. Bought it on a steak house wine list for $40. Although a nice list price, without time to air it was basically oak juice. I ended up corking the majority of the bottle and taking home. It was quite good after a long decant…..but I wouldn’t buy it for home consumption. So, a catch 22.

    QOTD2: Should be called “The spreadsheet that doesn’t have a single shout out to CaliCab”
    QOTD3: Gary. Sascha’s slowing down, and Mott is too pacifistic. Gary is like a killer troll on meth.
    QOTD4: 2005 Textbook Cab. Nope. Better than the first time, but still very meh.

    QOTD4: Hum, long time since I had Napa Cab, I think I the last I had is Caymus SS 2007 last summer at the winery and I bought a bottle when I went back here in Canada (my luggage where already full of 9 bottles….).

    This one was much more entertaining than the last one in my opinion. SS Chris stole the show, that guy is awesome. I am beginning to understand why the “original vayniacs” is such an awesome old guys club (for the most part).

    QOTD 1: probably, but they will not last past the first round of playoffs. The dynasty is dead, get over it (I admit I would not say that if I was as close to NY as those guys are)
    QOTD 2: SS Chris’s spread sheet, Gary gets enough thunder as it is.
    QOTD 3: Mott, all the way.
    QOTD 4: I honestly cannot remember, it has been a while. I think it was a Stag’s Leap, and yes I would buy it again.

  • Great show and looked like alot of fun. I won’t get too emotional but you Gary have given more to me (I’m sure I can speak for other Vayniacs) than you can ever imagine. I have spent more candlelit evenings and a nice glass of vino with you than anyone else I have ever known. Thank you for the memories as Bob Hope would say.

    This show totally blows yesterdays show away. Great job to all.

    I think I’m tearing up. Gary, your comments are so heart felt and It is coming across very strong. The Cabs are definitely a great choice. I am disappointed there hasn’t been any Bordeaux yet.
