EP 1000 Episode 1,000

Gary Vaynerchuk has finally made it to episode 1,000 of Wine Library TV! It’s been an amazing ride since that day in February 2006, with great guests, amazing (and sometimes awful) wines, as well as a lot of Jets talk. Today, the main focus is a huge thank you to all the Vayniacs who helped make this community…and a huge announcement from Gary.

Wines tasted in this episode:

2008 Jerome Prevost La Closerie Les Beguines BrutFrench Brut Vintage

  • Love ya back, Gary. Your evolution since the first episode I ever saw (think it was like episode 16 or something like that) has been amazing. I consider myself blessed to have seen it happen, and to have gotten to know you a little bit personally. I know the future holds only wonderful things for you, and I look forward to the Daily Grape (which at a smaller time commitment, I should actually be able to sit and watch again).

  • Thank you Gary!

You were my catalyst behind me getting into the wine trade….much love

its bitter sweet Gary. But thank you for all you have done!
SOD: I love you too. I would never be a big wine person without you

gary thanks for your time that you invested with us, the viewers, thanks for all the shows when you you didn’t feel like doing them or maybe you had something else that also needed to be done! i appreciate your dedication, see you at the next boston wine expo, your not so bab for a jets fan!

damn gary, damn! i am happy to know that you will do some more stuff here and not stop at 1,000… cuz that is too easy (kinda) i like the idea that it will be 1,148 or something like that.
anyhow, thank you for all of this… your time, knowledge, energy. i can say that when you started this, i was some what wine literate, now my wine knowledge has greatly gained depth and a big part of that is WLTV…. a lot of drinking, talking reading too. but i have to say, your show really added to my understanding of wine. so, merci from switzerland. see you on dailygrape.i just watched the first episode and it will be some good times
    PEACE

  • Thank you Gary. Just left your keynote at SXSW (and got smoked in Pencil Wars by you on Saturday). Congratulations on the new venture and THANK YOU for building such an amazing community- teaching us so much about biz and wine in the process.

I’m sad WLTV is going to be scaled back. And really enjoyed such an honest, open episode from you GV.

I mean, don’t get me wrong, I’ll be watching the Daily Grape…

Wow, 1,000 episodes. Another chapter to start. Good luck with your new endeavor. Will always have great memories of WLTV

I didn’t know how attached I had subconsciously become to your personality, to your passion for wine, and this show. Along with some peeps down below I agree that my passion for wine has acutely grown and matured thanks to you and this show, to a level that was unthinkable for me. The accessibility of this show and it’s format is very special and will be something I will always remember as a pivotal point in the timeline of my passion for wine and life in general. Some of my favorite moments were definitely the nerdiest of the bunch which I think is what daily grape is aimed towards, so for that I’m very excited. Anyway I love you too Garr even if I know you way better than you know me. Thank you my friend, stay humble, stay hungry, the world needs you bro. Go Jets!

  • Paul Sheridan

Thanks Gary, you’re the best. You’ve really moved my thinking forward in both wine and business. I’ll look forward to the Daily Grape.

Thanks Gary for that last five years and good luck on all future endeavors. Looking forward to the Daily Grape and getting to watch on my iPhone everyday on the train.

p.s. Does this mean Mott’s out of a job 😉

  • Thank you Gary, you are almost single handedly responsible for sparking my passion for wine.

GV, you changed my life and you’re definitely changing the wine world. Huge props on 1K episodes, thanks for all that you’ve given.

    Looking forward to Daily Grape,

You truly changed the wine world Gary!! This 5 years with us were a huge commitment and accomplishment for you, but we the Vayniacs were the beneficiaries! The amount of fun, wine knowledge experience and interaction that was involved on Wine Library TV, definitely changed the wine world. You are completely right with Daily Grape, it?s the evolution from WLTV, no boundaries, going mobile, no restrictions from being related to WL. Its going to be great Gary!! Big thanks to MOTT!! Sasha, mom, Lizzie, AJ, Misha, the Vaynerchuk family, god bless you!! 1000 Thanks GARY!! You R the BEST!! Best wishes on the new gig, from your #1 FAN FROM BRAZIL!

  • Wow. Not what I was expecting, but I get it. Youre an ambitious dude and you want to keep innovating. Hurry up with the android app!
Watching you get choked up is making me get choked up. You have really opened my eyes and my mind, Gary. Thank you so much.

THANKS FOR ALL THE GREAT SHOWS!!!

  • And “I love you too.”

Is there a medical term for having goosebumps and tears at the same time? Well, I need to be diagnosed but one can guess it’s called “Vayniacitis.”

Thank you for five glorious years and congratulations on the next stage in your life. I am sooo excited. I live my career anbd life’s successes and foibles through you.

    Cheers from the highest mountain!

Gary – Thank you for everything you have given us. Thanks for the last five years+ of WLTV. Thanks for ALMOST breaking up my marriage by tempting me to buy so much great wine. And the best of luck with your evolution to the Daily Grape (already signed up BTW).

    SOTD: Love you too.

Thank You Gary for everything. Ill be keeping up at the other sight.

Holy shit. Gary, both sad, yet excited about the new venture. A lot I could say, but the heart of the matter is that a guy from Israel turned me on to you about 3 years ago when I was at a friend’s wine and cheese tasting. It feels like you’ve been part of my, and I’ve been part of your “family,” ever since. Your show had/has a genuinesss I’ve never seen before or since that allowed this to happen. Not to mention, you are why my love and knowledge and passion for wine grew faster than a blue whale calf in a sea of plankton. I didn’t always agree with you. and sometimes frowned at your guests or format, but, in the end, you and your show have clearly and positively influenced and entertained a lot of people, and for that, you should be thanked. And it was all for free! Go Yankees. Joe P.

  • Thank you, Gary. Thank you very, very much. I was glad to meet you last week. Seriously, you’ve added a lot to my life. Thanks again.

SOD: You actually choked me up quite a bit there.

I signed up for Daily Grape but am sad to see this format go as I don’t live on my mobile phone so will simply watch online. Not clear what will happen to the forum when WLTV is only run a few times per year. Will miss the back and forth here not sure how it will work on the new site. Great to have met you and wish we would do another cruise though I doubt that is in the works. Thanks for 1000 episodes and I hope the Daily Grape plays out as well as this did.

  • Anonymous

Congratulations. This show has been a lot of fun to follow over the years. On to the next venture!

  • I am signed up for daily grape. it looks kind of cool over there. I do hope that you get an android app very soon because I will never own an iphone. I might get the ipad though 🙂 I do wish to return the thank you for winelibrarytv. I started watching when I was just getting into wines and you definitely played a role in expanding my palate. I am now in school as an enology major and I will in the next two years be working somewhere as a winemaker. I will see you on the daily grape!

  • Sadness.

Thanks for getting me into wine!

  • Anonymous

Thank You Gary! I will definitely join the Vaner Nation over at “Daily Grape” and also keep tabs on WLTV.

Gary, you have brought the joy of wine to me in ways you can never imagine. I never meant to write this in the comments because I wanted someday to talk with you face to face and thank you in person. Since December 2009 when I was laid off from my job I had you and WLTV to lean back on. Those 15 months of being out of work could have been a real disaster for me, but I had you Gary and those individuals in the comment sections that truly help keep my sanity.

I am also very emotional at this point and it is hard to see this change in a new and exciting direction. I can understand and I will support you in any way I can because if not for you, I don’t know where I could have ended up. I truly believe that the excitement and energy you brought everyday to your show and to my life helped sustain my search for a new career.

On Thursday of last week I was offered a new position with a company that I am very excited about and it is wonderful that I am also starting a new chapter in my life today that coincides with your new chapter. From this day forward our lives are in someway intertwined due to this event and I believe it was meant to be. I hope one day to make it to “The Wine Library” and eventually meet you. Wine is forever embedded in my soul thanks to you.

    NOSTROVIA!

  • Congrats GV! Looking forward to the next stage. Umm…Daily Grape…not available for Droid?

ah, like other video blogs, we end. Well, it was a good run, Best wishes.

I have a long list of ended video blogs from my newsgroup, guess I should archive them. ha.

But it’s hard to keep that freshness when it’s 5 years old, so it was time. again, best wishes.
