EP 1000 Episode 1,000

Gary Vaynerchuk has finally made it to episode 1,000 of Wine Library TV! It’s been an amazing ride since that day in February 2006, with great guests, amazing (and sometimes awful) wines, as well as a lot of Jets talk. Today, the main focus is a huge thank you to all the Vayniacs who helped make this community…and a huge announcement from Gary.

Wines tasted in this episode:

2008 Jerome Prevost La Closerie Les Beguines BrutFrench Brut Vintage

  • Epic. Thanks for everything. In prep for this episode, I watched many old ones. Even #1. Totally forgot that was reason that Verite stuck in my mind. And why we bought some of the 02 to put away for our daughter’s b-day in 2020 or so (Born in ’02)! Looking forward.

    Blah Blah Blah…

Wonder how many chances Jim Rome has passed on to stay loyal to that which originally brought him so much success – his loyal radio following. Too bad GV isn’t another Jim Rome.

Enjoy the grape all – as GV said, time to move on… and so I will…

    Late.

  • I was expecting a wine sale or something more upbeat. This stinks for those of us with mobile devices controlled by our employer. Oh well… thanks for the ride.

Thank you GV. I probably watched 850 of the 1,000. You’ve changed my world…for the better.

  • Signed up! Let us start anew together.

  • Thanks GV… I learned a lot since I started watching around episode 250. Sure hope the Daily Grape has an Android App soon, and can manage to find room for brown bags and the occasional Vinnie Testaverde rant in the new, tighter format.

Thanks Gary and WLTV. You guys have expanded my world of wine so much. Enjoyed them all and looking forward to more on Daily Grape. Jump off this bus on to another. I am sure the ride will be just as informative and enjoyable.

  • Ukraine hugs you, Gary!
Have been watching your RailsConf 2010 speech 10 minutes ago.
    You’re truly inspiring!
This episode changes the wine world again.
Pretty sure that you’ll rock in 2011 daily on my downloaded app of yours!
    Respecting your way,
    Alexey.

This could be a “Jump the Shark” point in time……

  • Just realized what took place, got the iPhone app, a user name on Daily Grape and the fun ride continues in new digs with a slightly changed approach and format. Keep doing you and keep inspiring the folks around the world. You’re the man!

  • Having regrets about being a lurker for so long, but I have been enjoying WLTV for 2 1/2 years now. Gary, thank you for sharing your knowledge, experience and wine world connections with us as passionately as you have. I’m sad to see this chapter close, but am equally excited to see what you have in store for us next. You are certainly innovative! I’m going to the Daily Grape page now to sign up- see you on the flip side. Many, many thanks… and good luck!

Gary–thank you so much. The energy and content you brought to WLTV was amazing. Thank you for helping to expand my pallet. See you over at the Daily Grape.

  • Haven’t watched or commented in a while, but wanted to write on episode 1000 to say thanks for being yourself -even when others didn’t like your stuff- and for sharing so much knowledge with viewers over the years. I especially enjoy the times when you illuminate and breakdown preconceptions about and within the wine world. Your contributions to the online wine scene have surely reshaped the thinking of thousands of wine consumers. Kudos on a job well done; I greatly look forward to hearing/seeing you in other formats in the future! Keep it up!!!

Great work Gary! I manage and have managed interactive strategy for many top brands over the years and somehow your approach always finds its way into conversations with my customers on how to go about “social media”. You are right, we are just getting back the old way of doing business by connecting with our customers in a genuine way. It works and more importantly it makes work fun.

I have only been watching Wine Library TV for a few months, but because I am a student in Boyer’s wine class at Virginia Tech, I have seen so many important episodes.

CKC at Virginia Tech here. The great episodes of Wine Library will continue to play an important part in education of new wine fanatics. I wish you the best of luck on your new venture, and I also hope that the Daily Grape brings new adventures/lessons to other Virginia Tech students for years to come.
