lines of the day – ‘This wine is one thing and that thing is suck ass’ and ‘you all have that friend who brings nothing charismatic to the table’

This episode gets 90 points for the set alone but shame about the wines which were all disappointing. GV on form though

  • PS – when can we expect to see the Sasha off-site Winelibrary TV episode? I believe one was promised to us earlier this summer in September/October . . . .

    QOTD 1: “Lost in Translation”
QOTD 2: Tom Selleck- because I want to see a label with an excellent mustache.
QOTD 3: Chris Mott… followed closely by GV.

I was not able to hear a thing…..and there are a few posts from others that say the same thing. BUT, there’s the majority of posts seem to be from people who COULD hear. What gives? I’m confused. I even went to WLTV page on YouTube, but it was the same audio problem.

Why can some hear and other can’t ??

  • Monica in Texas

    1 – What About Bob?
2 – Would have loved to see a wine from Katharine Hepburn before she passed. (She was complex, bold, and intelligent.)
3 – Julia Louis-Dreyfus (I love her show ‘Old Christine’!)

Liked the episode. The wines may not have been great, but the background was fun!

qotd: A. Where the Buffalo Roam.
    B. Robert DeNero, because he lives in New Paltz and it would be a Hudson Valley wine.
    C. This crazy guy who does a wine videoblog … Gary Vay … Ner … Chuck!

    Great QOTD:

    1. Ghostbusters followed very closely by What about Bob?
    2. Pierce Brosnan and Scarlett Johannson – cause I think Pierce can pull off something elegant, complex, well balanced, and interesting. Scarlett J. can make sure that the wine has something sexy about it.
    3. Johnny Depp

    1. Ghost Busters

    2. No idea

    3. Ted Nugent

  • 1: Groundhog Day/Rushmore toss up (What about Bob? is one of the most annoying movies of all time)
2: Betty Draper (or whoever plays her)

You slandered Bogle Chard by claiming it is “slightly” better than the Aykroyd Chard that rolled in at 71 points.

Geeking out about the audio problem:

There is a serious phase issue with the sound on the celebrity episode. There must be multiple microphones on the PopEater set because they are canceling each other out.

The stereo field is uncomfortable and hard to listen to, and in mono you’ll have a deteriorated audio signal or nothing at all, depending on the system. This explains why some people can’t hear anything!

I’d recommend the boys move their mics a little further apart, or, have Mott look at the signal and try to fix it if he’s doing stereo microphones each week.

    Much love all!

I had no idea those two guys had a wine with their name on it 🙂

    QOTD 1: Groundhog day.
QOTD 2: Tom Hanks. He seems to go all out when he does something.
QOTD 3: I have no idea. Eddie Van Halen I guess. 🙂

Bogle “competes” with the DA Discovery Chard?

    Wow.

The way you guys were talking about the DA Chard it almost leads me to believe you feel that Bogle’s Chard sucks.
