Gmoney, the La Basseta to this day is one of the best wines I have ever had the pleasure of drinking. Top 5, I scored this wine 95 points without knowledge of your score. Fine palate’s taste alike. Even though you were high on the Cadus, yum yum.

Bought the Rottlan last month after Gary’s review. Just opened it tonight. OMG! The chocolate nose is overwhelming. It’s like sniffing a box of assorted creme-filled chocolates. Cherry, rasberry, brandy, amaretto. Complex and very unusual. If I smelled this wine blind I swear I wouldn’t even think it was wine.

I’d be tempted to go higher than Gary’s 89, but the finish is a little wierd. Some cabbage or sauerkraut comes through and I don’t dig that — not Cabernet-like at all, so I disagree with Gary there. But all in all, a stunning wine for the money. Very unusual and worth trying. — Mark B

Yuw, Gary, have been off for a long time (toooooooo much work, heaps, loads, …). Discovered Priorat a few months ago, never had one before. Very impressed by Sanguenis i Vaque Vall Por: also way too young, but already showing there’s smth to expect.
QOTD: red, man, how could you’ve asked …

Opened one of the four bottles I got,, not seeing the Chocolate/cocao powder AT ALL. Which is disapponting because I thought I’d impress my wife(hence giving validation to my habit).
I’m getting Grape bubble gum,,, those 2 foot long sticks of the stuff,, on the nose. Tasting it taste like grape cough medicine/grape Jolly Rancher. Not impressed. Will give some to a Spainish teacher I know that would be pleased just to have a Spainish wine. PAZZZZZZZZ.

The third wine seemed enticing, though a little expensive. About the episode, I particularly enjoyed the smurfs jumpin all over the spilled wine – actually got a chuckle from me.

    QOTD: Dark cabernet purple.

Glad you brought out the Priorat. I had my first in Sitges, Spain (30 min, S of Barcelona) and fell in love. Yes, these wines can be pricey, but for the ‘equivalent’ quality in Bordeaux, Burgundy, or even Napa, wouldn’t one pay 2-3X? Anyway, glad to see your enthusiastic response!

QOTD: Always liked purple. Have faith, though, I have not painted any walls in my house a loud violet…. yet.

Great episode. I love Priorat wine and find the top ones to be well made. Despite the prices of these wine getting a bit on the high end, they are still less than a wine of similar quality from California would be.

QOD: Favorite color is definitely green.

    GV,

The buildup to that last wine is reminiscent to hooking up with that smoking hot chick with a killer body and finding out she stuffed. I’m devastated.

    QOTD:
My favorite all time color is and will always be, Yankee Pinstripe.

I’m off to do the work of many.

I love the smurfs……ever wonder why there was only one girl? How is that possible. Maybe you could do like a smurf sequel and out mama smurf?
GOnna head out and pick some Priorat up….
QOTD – Olive green is my favorite

Another excellent episode trying something different. In this case, I’ve had a Mas Igneus FA 112 Priorat and fell in love with it. Bought a case. Yummy. As for the QOTD, my favorite color would be purple.

    QOTD – Purple
I cringe everytime you use $60 wine to wash your tasting glass. Do you wipe your rear with twenties?
