Intresting wines. Too bad the first to were so high on alcohol. I'll have to check out my local wine shop to see if they carry any, though/ QOTD: My sense of humor. I make a lot of strange and off the wall jokes at all times. Random behavior and antics.... you know, all that good stuff.
  • The Fanjestic
I've had 3 of their wines - 2 Left Feet - good! Boxer - VERRRRY Good! And the Goosebumps Sparkling Shiraz - KILLER GOOD!

I'll be interested to see how my bottle of the Blue Eyed Boy Does.

Re: Mollydooker, I found that the Marquises have put out a video describing how you must do the "Mollydooker Shake" before drinking (most) of their wines ->
    http://www.mollydookerwines.com/web/mollydooker...
Perhaps you could test The Boxer and do the Shake first!

Keep up the great work, Gary! I have learned so much from you. The wine stores in (my) surrounding towns should be grateful as well as they have all this new business :-).

QOTD: Probably some of these red lipsticks I have that are way too OTT for me to wear. Of course Gary V. is OTT, especially in episode 275.

I'm going through your archives and just came across this episode. I'm a bit of a lurker and this is my first comment. I haven't read the others, so I'm sure there're a MILLION saying this, but: Where the hell is The Boxer? It's the GOOD $20 Mollydooker. In my opinion, it's better than the Velvet Glove even. I don't understand how it could've gotten left out. Anyway, I really, really love the show. Please (please!) keep up the good work.

P.S.- I tried to check out the Facebook vid, but couldn't find it. Did it get taken down?

Quite a review. Would of loved to see a review of Carnival of Love. I really like the Maitre D but it does stink of alcohol (initially) let this air off for fifteen minutes and it is a very complete wine. I really do believe it will be more balanced in five years. Bought a case from Sam's in Chicago . We are all sold out here on the left coast. Love your format. Keep up the good work. You should have me on as a guest. Worked as a flavor chemist in my past life. Met people (flavorists) with incredible pallets.

OMG (oh my g-d for the non facebook generation). Since today's episode has not posted yet, I decided to watch the infamous Mollydooker episode. Don't know what people are complaining about. A Vlog is Web2.0 and you're a Web 2.0 guy. If people don't want to get with it and learn about new technologies and wine from you, too bad for being sourpusses! It's like criticizing you for being on twitter!

In hindsight, I can see why you reacted to all the criticism with the garyissorry episode. After all the content and education you release for free!

I will admit that I do get the most out of episodes where you educate or express your point of view (such as your love of Riesling or unoaked chard's) but overall I love watching your Vlog for you and the passion you bring. Keep it up!
  • dude normally I'd never complain because you do this as a service (although I do spend a lot of money in WL due to this service) but the problem is that I watch the show as a vodcast on my commute so it's a pain in the @$$ to have the episode on Facebook. I know I know I saw the garyissorry thing etc but I want you to understand I'm not just bitching because it take more time but rather I don't normally watch these episodes online. That also explains why you're getting a barrage of comments from me today. I write them all down my comments and answers to questions of the day while I watch in the bus just to make sure I'm not a lurker etc and I've even your cork'd friend and twitter buddy but I'm trying to let you know why the facebook thing annoys your iTunes friends.

Again I'm not mad... just being your friend and letting you know

Well folks I think Gary is having a good time and we may have all discovered some new things in the process. I'm always surprised how rough people can be on someone if they aren't looking them in the face and don't have to hear a reply. But, that's kind of what I just did isn't it. oh well. I come to the internet for fun, and I want it to stay that way.

Gary, thanks again for it all. I thought the web adventure was hillarious. thanks for taking the time to bring some levity to my stressful days. Cheers!!!!!

Tried all of these Mollydooker wines at my local store. Couldn't stand a one of them. The alcohol killed me after the first sip. Not on Facebook and don't want to be so I won't be seeing the rest of the episode. Showing this to my youngest who has just moved to Brooklyn and is interested in starting a young wine tasting group so I had to hook him up with Gary. What better way to learn about wines and be entertained at the same time.

    WOW...where do I start...
I totally understand & agree with the comments on facebook, myspace(stalkers paradise), badge & the like. I started with WLTV & will not go anywhere else for it. Dude I know you're hip to this whole web2.0 stuff but come on.
As for the education, I think GV does what he can do in the given amount of time for an ep. There have been some marathon ep's & I had to take a few breaks in them. He can do an ep focusing on education but that's all it would be.
Its ok to voice your opinion's here but lets not bash GV either. It seems like all the viewers are never happy. Again, facebook etc; aside, criticisms on the show or worse yet on Gary are just wrong. Think of how unappreciated he must feel. Every time I see the stuff he does for his loyal customers/viewers I appreciate him that much more. How many times have you received something for nothing? There are free lunches at WL. THis CAS promo is just sick. How many retailers do that? I've been around since the very beginning & have seen the community grow only to see the newcomers roll in with beer muscles talking shit. To be clear, I do not like the "friend me up" deal & wish it would stop but don't hate on Gary or his dedication.

Yo GV big ups to you & your WL crew. Do your thing..
(just not the facebook thang :))

ps..the eHarmony comment is F'ing HILARIOUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

pss..Brandon I'll be talking smack as long as you keep wearing that damn hat..
psss...wanna hear something funny? I've been loading up on some classic Cali juice lately. I think of you with every purchase. You should be proud!

Facebook ain't my thing, not because I have any particular negative feelings, I just don't want another account... I had to have my arm twisted to go from friendster to myspace, "that's my website and I'm stickin to it."

That said, I'm not offended/pissed/whatever in any way. Keep doin what you're doin. Had a great time with you at the Vayniac party in SF, love watching your show, and have badged you up on my myspace. Keep doin what you're doin!

Also, remember that only people who are pissed are likely to comment. The silent majority (LURKERS) couldn't care less about facebook/twitter/whatever.

    QoTD: My '06 Gixxer 1000. 385lbs, 160+ hp. It's a rocket.

Last thing: thanks for the trail of websites. I got some good laughs out of your "scavenger hunt."

Always heard about Mollydooker wines, but never tried any. Thanks for the heads up, and I will look for the two left shoes.

QOTD: My fascination with wine and WLTV!

Crazies of all craziness...I go on vacation and come back to find the Vayniac nation turned upside down. GV- I like your free video blog better than the doubters free video blogs. I don't know if you'll read this later or not but keep pressing on man. Wow. QOTD: my 4 kids!

    GV, Don't doubt yourself. I Don't. Good show !

    Hey Gary -

Just wanted to say thanks for WLTV. I really appreciate how much of yourself you pour into each episode and into the community at large. It is frustrating when people believe they are simply entitled to everything you do for us.

QOTD: The negative reaction to the "Bonus Coverage" & Your humorous "Treasure-Hunt" response.

    Best,

    Hey! I'm still watching... ;)

QOTD. For sure must be my lovely wife. You know a go-getter Ukrainian married to a laid-back Spaniard. I'm sure you understand.

WOW...it looks like I took the wrong weekend to take a trip.
Forget all the nay-sayers GV.....be true to yourself.....innovate...change it up....
By all means use as many social network sites as you can to get the message out!
The people that can't hang will go back to Ebob or WS and debate the proper temperature to serve CDP.
Forget them push on...I got your back :)

    And Face Book? I'll pass.

Great episode! From the comments, it looks like you have a classic panhandler problem: give some people something for free and they will develop an almost violent sense of entitlement. Oh well, my parents always taught me to say thanks.

QOTD: my library of wine books and my growing collection of specialty wine glasses.
  • I really don't see what the problem is here. Gary and WLTV can have a presence on as many websites as he wants. And so can each of us. There's actually a photo of me and Gary on my Match.com profile!
  • Glad to see you still bringing the honesty like you always do. We just got in our allocation and I was curious what you thoughts were on these wines.

I feel like I'm a lurker. I haven't responded in so long. The truth is you have inspired me to quit wasting so much time on the internet and spend more time with my family and more time tasting wine myself. Keep up the good work!

Are you going to taste the Blue Eyed Boy, Giggle Pot or Goosebumps? Never mind, I guess I'll have to go to the other place?

Also I'm curious if you ever tasted this:

QOD: My studying of Fantasy Football.

"That’s all fine and good, but all we’re learning to do is appreciate your palate instead of learning how to develop ours."

People, this takes WORK you know. Fun work, but taste the wines, see if you agree with Gary, and whether or not you do, look for a trend. You don't have to like the wines he likes, but if you know WHY you like or don't like what he likes, that's a help.

Taste a wine. See if you taste what Gary tastes (you mostly should). See if you like the wines he likes (you may or may not).

Or do you want him to move into your mouth?
  • desmaic
    little "special efx" for you.

Gary;I've been watching WLTV, for about a month.
I like the adrenalin rush of the show (that doesn't mean that you need to have a heart attack in front of the camara every day),but what I really enjoy is the HONESTY of your opinions;that is rare in the wine business because is turning in to an industry very fast.
I am sure if you decide to move to an other web site or even become a "PRO" most of us will follow you, as a matter of fact I swallowed my pride and signed up for facebook...but I'm still more of a wino than a computer geek.
  • Wave
GV, I agree a lot w/ Jay.Not as far s losing my viewership so much as wanting a little more than a rant(not that I don't enjoy the rants). Seperating wine by regions ei:difference between Napa/Sonoma weather and soil/ cote 'd beaune/cote 'd nuit etc...I guess I want you to teach me/us more about wine than just taste spit and say yea or nay.Maybe thats not what your vision for your show is.And by asking us all to facebook, cork'd etc...etc...You risk losing your faithful to chase after having as many internet friends/fans as possible. My QOD to you GV is.... "Where are you taking this whole thing. What is your vision for five years from now for GV and WLTV?

Harold, we've come a long way in Western Civilization to get the point where any discordant opinion equals "hate." If you don't see the difference, then yes, these 'haters' of which you speak will need to disappear in order for your simplified vision of the world remains stable. We all appreciate what Gary's doing, that's why we're here. Gary can take honest criticism, he's a grown up. What's your excuse?
