she really came with the big guns knowing her stuff. but she watches the show so i assume she learned it all (or most) from GaryVee. sick ass wrist band i wish i could get one of the yellow ones. FO SHO the best ones. i cant find them anywhere. if im stupid email me and tell me where to get them. if i cant buy them im in a contest right now to get all of the shwag. love when you have guests. love when they are winery people like im getting the insider scoop, but also when they are normal people like me because its more what i might like. and when its just GaryVee i feel like im just learning (which is a good thing) because i know what to say to make me sound smart with wine.

Q-Italian reds, I know that’s not very specific, but there are so many I enjoy.

Awesome show! I love it when Gary has guests that are not all up on wine. I feel like I can relate, cause I definitely do not have Gary’s palate!

QOTD: Casillero Del Diablo - Carmenere 2006….it is definitely my go to wine!

Great show and another fun guest appearance by a Vayniac! Gary, Vayniac of the Week - I’m telling ya! Props to Sara. And by the way, I like the opening of the show now - very nice.

QOTD: Cote Rotie, any time, anywhere. Awesome wines.

With all the new wines that I’m experiencing with the help of the THUNDER SHOW, I really don’t think I could possibly stick to one for ANY length of time!

Just one? My favorite changes monthly, weekly, daily. Cote du Rhone is my current love. Don’t ask me to be too specific.

I’m going to keep my opinions about this show to myself and just get on with the QOTD: Chateau la Nerthe, 2001 - present, 2001 being my favorite. I just wish I had picked up more of it, especially with the way that Chataneu du Pape prices have gone up.

QOTD: A few weeks ago I had this fantastic Italian Montepulciano at a local Italian Restaurant. I have to admit, that was one of the best wines that I have ever had.

QOTD- Coudelet de Beaucastel- great mix old and new world and fits so many palates and is only like 30 bucks.
Great Job Sara and keep bringing on the guests. You should have a local guest on, I don’t know, someone who lives, like, in SPringfield off SHort Hills Avenue, just a short walk from the store. I could be there in mere minutes, I mean, that guest could be there in mere minutes.

Thanks BB. I’m sure you feel much better now, and I can quit worrying about how your remark (probably) hurt Sara’s feelings, and go on to more positive thoughts such as what to serve with my “around the world with fish” menu tomorrow night. I bet you are actually a good person who said a dumb thing…we all do at times, so thanks for owning it.

Hey all! Sara (this show’s guest) here. Thanks so much for the (mostly positive) comments, and I’m glad you enjoyed the show! I had SUCH a blast with Gary, it was just the greatest, and I’ll never forget it. Also big ups to those who came out to show support at Cornelia’s in NYC, we had a packed house! And those of you who bought the CD, I hope you enjoy it! Hope we can have more of these conversations soon! Today I’m back in Los Angeles, and I’ll be attending the young winos meeting tonight, and then in the coming weeks cooking some food that will go with the wines I bought at Wine Library!

QOTD: To answer my own question, of COURSE I’ve learned from Gary to try new wines all the time, and I ADORE doing so. But for the question, of course my go-to white is the Kim Crawford Sauvignon Blanc (whatever is the current vintage, ‘o6 was awesome and now ‘07 is bangin’). For reds it gets a little different. I have to say I love Concha Y Toro’s Don Melchor and any and all of Liparita’s cabernets.

P.S. Gary let me taste some other wines behind the scenes when I was there, including a $500 bottle of Chateau Lafite that he’d opened for a bigwig previously taped guest who’s coming up, and he wouldn’t tell me who it is. Holy moly! And, inexperienced as I am, I found it good, but not amazing. My fiance sisn’t like it at all (go figure, we’re plebians). Give me my Don Melchor any day. Gary told me to give my palate a couple of years. :) In person, Gary is everything he seems, genuine, sweet, generous, fun…I love him even more now that I met him.
