QOTD: I guess at that price point i recently had the 2007 hugel “gentil” and thought it was pretty good stuff. I was at the Fredrick Wildman tasting when i tried it and had the pleasure of tasting his entire line of products which i think are amazing wines! …. all though not all at that price point!

QOTD: Value Wine…. I’m completely biased b/c I sell these wines, but nonetheless I LIKE them.

2007 Mallee Sands Chardonnay (Barossa Valley)
    El Cipres Torrontes (Mendoza, Argentina)
Bodega Benegas- ALL OF THEM! (Mendoza)
    Crush Pad Red (Mendocino, CA)
2005 Sutton Cellars Table Merlot (Sonoma)

p.s. The Thunder Show needs a cute wine girl sidekick. Tell him, Mott. (p.s. I have Jets connections. Hire me. do it.)

Gary, Good try for a QPR Home Run but a single RBI is ok!

Qotd: By far the 2005 Thorne Clark Shotfire. This was a killer wine for the money. BTW the 2006 is a strike out

Inspiring episode garyvee. I actually tasted some of my own wine and it was perfect for bottling. Bottled up the whole batch. Even blogged about it:

    Hi, Gary.

    A interesting info for you:
-I opened a 1982, Arnaud de Villeneuve, Riversaltes Amber Hors D’age, 16%vol, 3 MONTHS AGO, on my wife’s birthday, and then sealed with vacuum cork
-I tried it yestoday, nearly the same, and still firm and mellow on the palate, but shift from heavy to elegent: just a little light on alcohol and honey, and more caramel and spiciness.
Maybe it is due to the high alcohol content, but a good experience for me about aging…

QOTD:Nothing really, according to my doctor’s advice.:)

Have you seen Gary? There’s only one solution for a finacial crisis of this magnitude. Time to call CAPTAIN VALUUUUUUUUUU. Is it true one of Captain Value’s arch enemies is Sir GV?

I’ve been really digging a couple options from Costco. There’s a 2005 Tin Roof Merlot for $7.99 and a two-pack of White Table Wine for $9.99. Both fantastic for the price.

QOTD: Covey Run Riesling from Washington State. Very good Riesling… I think WL has it for $8 a bottle.

QOTD – have recently had a few bottles of the Chateau Greysac 2003 that were around that price point and really solid.

Nice show, Gary, but I’m still depressed. I figure I am now not ten years from retirement but more like 25 years or never. Geez!

QOTD: A Spanish red called Valderiz or something like that. I think it is from Ribera del Duero.

Hey Gary! I’ve always enjoyed your site… but just wanted to say that your quote at the Media Bistro event about content being king and marketing being queen was brilliant. As a former Publicist, I fully concur! Keep up the awesome work here! :-)

    Da Mottster!!!!!

You should have Mott jump in more often….except when he does, he should actually have something to say. Mott Library TV….now that’s an idea..!!!!!

You kept freezing right at the QOTD so I have no clue what it is.

    Have a great weekend brother!!!!!

nice! i’m always looking for a good deal, especially the past phew weeks! I got a great bottle of Bogle Petite Sirah last week that only set me back 12 bucks. It’s a little more fruity than my usual tastes, but I really thought it was a very good bottle.
    Cheers!!
