Thanks for doing the 04 Brunello’s I was curious about the hype, also heard the same for 06 Chianti’s (hint).

    Deffinnetly go flabby

That show was indeed tight, dare I say LEGIT. It’s great to have you back, “brother!” (the word “brother” to be read Hogan- style)

QOTD 1.) Before you even asked the question, I already started to get intrigued with the intercut comment about your recent wine world discoveries. I think its a great idea to sprinkle that info into the show to keep us up to date with what you and your “pal” have been up to.

QOTD 2.) Legit makes me think of something solid, substantial, and/or something that holds its own. I think I’ve been using “legit” way too much lately…

I knew we could bring you around G.V. Petite Sirah ROCKS!
Why try to stay on point? Ramble on.

Love the Peachy Canyon reference. It’s a nice little winery I’ve been to in Paso Robles, Ca. Don’t remember the Petite but will look for it.
I’ll have to go looking for some real Brunello. Haven’t had much luck at my local stores. How about some free shipping to get us going?
Most “good” movies put me to sleep.
Great show, we have missed you.
How about linking it up when you’re not gonna have a show.

I like changing things up on occasion like you seem to do. I’m in favor of giving a little background (on solo) shows. When you have a guest I suggest staying on topic otherwise they’ll all be 2 parters when not necessary.

Doing great work, keep it up!

Your asides are cute, but not as cute as you think they are!

Ahhh…Brunello… my epiphany wine style. Nothing finer than sitting at Bar Il Palio on Il Campo in Siena sipping a Brunello watching the world roll by. I have several bottles coolin’ their heels in the cellar. One fabulous ‘97 left and a couple 2001s. Saving for a special occasion.

Fun and Flabby gets my vote.

    QOTD: What else, but Hammer!

    What A show, love it.

You mention what movie is boring in the first 15 to 30 min, I have to say Austrailia and then it really turn out to be great. Love it.

    Do more shows on Brunellos.

    Best regards !

Definitely like the outside wine discussion. Always curious to hear what else you’re tasting and what you thought.

    QOTD: MC Hammer

    Flabby, yet fun!

Why does it always seem my best comments come before an episode where you don’t read the comments on air? I had a dynamite comment to the Fox News guy’s questions and you didn’t even make an attempt to do comments with Mr. Diggnation. Oh well.
Qotd: I like the random comments. Be as real as you can be
I can’t remember ever falling alseep during a movie I liked
Confused by your last question, but I remember M.C. Hammer and those pants!

Three years and you still can’t pronounce Meunier and you still don’t know what “flabby” means.

Enjoyed the show Gary – good to have you back in the saddle.

QOTD1: The random wine comments between tastings is great, keep them coming.
QOTD2: A movie that had sleepy sections in it but overall was a stunner was Godfather Part II
QOTD3: When I think of “legit” I think of what Lito Sheppard USED to be – back when he was a pro-bowl cornerback for the Eagles. When I think of “over the hill” I think of the Lito Sheppard the Jets traded for.

QOTD 1: Shoot from the hip Mr. Vay-ner-chuk like you always have.

QOTD 2: Practically any Woodie Allen movie, especially Manhattan.

QOTD 3: If I never heard someone say legit or “nice play” it would be a good day in Gotham.

    Kirk (aka: slave2thevine)

QOTD: 2 legit…2 legit to quit. So when you say that…I get MC Hammer. All day long. Good show…and love to see Brunello getting some love. It would be interesting to see the difference between some “new world” and “old house” styles of Brunello….

    QOTD: I think WineLibrarytv.com is 2legit2quit watching!!

Good show today Gary, you were focused and effective.

Loved the episode Gary….really cheered me up before heading off to work this afternoon…visited a wine and food festival here in Auckland the other day and while all the other sheep headed off to the tents of the same ole Sauv B producers, I was dragging my girlfriend to the Italian wine tent where I was blown away by a few unpronoucible varietials.

QOTD 1: For sure Gary….the QOTD for you my friend is, “what is bringing the thunder in your wine life at the moment?”……….keep us Vayniacs abreast.

QOTD 2: The Lord of the Rings..the fellowship of the ring part 1. The film was going great guns until Cate Blanchett’s dull and flabby mid section play, with her 15 min appearance as Elf Queen of the Magical Forest…yawn.

QOTD 3: Legit – Being true to itself…the most important vaue that great wine can bring to the table

CanĀ“t believe you are visiting New Zealand in July….arghhh I leave in May.

    Damm….late for work…

    Alex Coppice

SQOTD: Flabby and fun. I usualy get sidetracked when I speak and thus can lead to wierdest conversations. Keep it going!

QTOD: Legit. Reminds me of an movie. Legit, legit.. can’t really place it.

Waiting for the bacon episode! Perhaps I will buy some bacon and try to think of an wine that would go great with bacon. It’s rather salty and I’d say mix salty with sweet you get amazing orgasm like feeling. Try Moscato d’Asti!

nice nice, i have been curious about the 04 brunello. the 04 chianti that i have had have been real nice. these are young too. i am sure they are going to round into shape after 7 to 8 years. speaking of 8 yrs of age, the 01 right banks are starting to sing. is it me or are people feelin’ it?
legit – i am down cause we are ” too legit to quit!” yeah baby- too funny

great show and look forward to seeing some more 04 brunello shows!
keep on rockin in the free world. ( must stop with bad musik quotes!)

ps, had a great weekend with family in france, drank some good wine and great food. god i miss france. we had some pork cheeks in red wine and mushrooms…… yum

great start for the week gary

I like it when you go off on things like wines you drank over the weekend, even when you put it on the Facebook page! I left my comments there. Maybe you could put the question of the day on Facebook as well? Read some comments from FB? At least find a way to let us know that you read the FB comments, or else I will quipt commenting……..
Qotd: when I hear Legit I think Parachute pants and MC Hammer!

  22. March 23, 2009

    Cameron J

    QOTD:

    1. Flabby
    2. Can’t help you there
    3. Legit – People wearing living room drapes as pants (?)

On the bacon tasting – do it! But then again, what doesn’t go with bacon?

  23. March 23, 2009

    Jesse

    Side comments are money.

I would have to say The Lord of the Rings – and Star Wars – but the boring parts are entirely necessary I would argue.

QOTD: 2 Legit to quit Baby, my dad once met MC hammer in the airport – walks right up to him and his body gaurds and says “who is this guy somekind of baseball player?” (Hammer wearing a Reds hat).

  24. March 23, 2009

    Mike Millett

Yes to the tangental wine experiences. Those are good. We viewers think that when you are drinking wine on your own, part of the work is already done. Suffice it to say, we may disagree with your assertions, but if it get’s in your way, it warrants consideration. If you like Petit Syrah’s so much, you should do a show. Many wine enthusiasts don’t know much about it still.

  25. March 23, 2009

    Pete B

Gary, we definitely missed you last week. Good show, I have tried a couple Brunellos in the past and I wasn’t a fan, but I’ll give them another go.

QOTD 1 – I like a little friendly chit chat thrown in every once in awhile. It keeps it fresh.

QOTD 2 – The best example for me is Gladiator. I love the movie but for some reason I always pass out in the middle for like 15-20min.

QOTD 3 – Legit is LEGIT!!! I think its getting overworked but I catch myself throwing it out there quite a bit.
