Wine Spectator scores the 2004 Brunello’ds a 92-97 as a vintage and Wine Advocate scores Tuscany a 96 but Antonio Galloni says “There is absolutely no reason to get worked up about 2004 Brunello and commit capital without tasting the wines first.” So today Gary Vaynerchuk will try the 1st two that have come in!

You’re right man – that was a good show. Parmesan is some of my favorite cheese, so I’m going to be seeking out some of these 04 Brunello’s to give them a shot.

I’ve had essay exams in College with fewer questions that these comment requests, so I better get to it!

First, keep the show loose, flabby and fun. There’s a great “your mom” joke in there, but I’ll leave it alone; not everyone’s into that

Second – that movie for me most recently was the watchmen pic. I thought it was great, but it lagged for a bit in there on some of the character background stuff; almost lost me completely

Finally – I don’t know how anyone doesn’t think of Hammer, and I’m right there with them. But I had a great boss and mentor whose highest compliment about a person was that they were legit, so I’ve always tied that word to speak highly of a person’s business acumen.

First, gotta agree with Carlitos on the lack of build-up to the Thunder Cruise. It’s barely three weeks away, and NADA. Hope you’re planning to talk about it real soon. OH, and Capt M, do NOT bring Brunello or any other adult libation along—not a BYOB cruise—it will be confiscated before you board. Hope we’ll be tasting some on the ship, though. Gary??

I’ve seen many movies over the years where I’ve said, “Wow, that was ALMOST a great movie.” Most recent was the “Lord of the Rings” trilogy.

For the record, I like the under 15 minute, nice and neat shows like this one.

Gary V, while you tasted the 2004, did you know that in 2003, Argiano got into a little bit of trouble? Oh yeah, they put a few grapes into the mix that were not Sangiovese and then tried to call there wine Brunello. In order to release the vintage while under investigation, Argiano decided to release the 2003 as a Toscana IGT (Indicazione Geografica Tipica), specifically, Il Duemilatre di Argiano.

Gary, I have to say I was expecting a little more build up for the Thunder Cruise. We are less than a month away and we are not getting anything. I don’t know if you are sold out or have lost interest but I was expecting more details, insights, excitement… Thunder! Anyway, I’m bringing my dad and wife and my in-laws so it will be a blast regardless.

The small talk keeps the show flowing man, sometimes skiddishly but I dig it. I really cant remember the last movie I actually kind of fell asleep during..maybe one of the “Lord of the Rings”..series..maybe the last Star Wars..ummmm I basically slept through most of the latest Indiana Jones movie but thats not exactly what your asking. Anyway, to me “legit” takes me back to the mid 90’s..maybe a recently post Hammer time when people were kicking the lingo back up a notch to try to make up for all the downtime from 76-Early 90’s. BOOM! Go hard OG Gar Vee! Enjoyed this one.

Yes, Gary, that was a good episode. I’m glad you could feel it. It seemed to me like you were happy to be back. If you really do the bacon pairing, some pinotage might be good.

semi-qotd: I like the side topics, especially when they relate to wine instead of sports.

As far as the movie question, it doesn’t bore me, but I’ve seen other people get bored with the long, wordless opening scene of 2001: A Space Odyssey. Remember it, with the apes? I think it’s about 15 minutes.

You should also try pairing wine with different types of fast food. Ive found that a good petite syrah goes great with a nice double whopper with cheese. Mmmmmm. Give it a try. There’s nothing more legit than breaking down barriers that only function to exclude and separate people. The web, used in this way, as you are doing with winelibrary tv, does a beautiful job of that. So keep it up Gary! If people want to understand the secret of your success and their own potential success, then this is the only why and how they really need.

Bring on the Brunellos and the bacon! I’ll be watching.

GV, I was lucky enough to be able to visit Arginao on a trip to Tuscany a few years ago – it is a really beautiful place. I had a quasi-private tour and tasting and they were really nice people. I remember most the perfect weather that day, how cool the cellar under the villa was, and the directions I had to follow to get there. I was driving on gravel roads through vineyards for like 15 minutes!

Though side notes are fun, I think they fit better at the beginning or end of the episode – in between bottles the comments can get lost.

Can’t think of any specific movies, but anything that is over 2.5 hours could likely be an example.

QOTD – hate to say it, but “2 legit 2 quit” (supposedly my girlfriend’s 7th grade student council slogan)

BTW, this angle of filming is far superior. First of all, just more interesting background than the blank wall……BUT, more importantly, I like the fact that when someone pokes their head in you’re office, we will be able to see who it is (and their reaction) immediately!! Hasn’t happenned yet, but I predict it will pay dividents down the line.

btw, if I’m ever there and see you filming, I’m definitely busting in!!!

to be honest, Gary, i like a flab that is firm yet fun. small talk is awesome, just so long as you dont have to explain all your little slang terms anymore. if the vayniacs havent gotten it by now, its useless. qotd number 2, aliens(the sequel to alien) is so boring in the beginning, but it gets much better halfway through. qotd number 3, legitimately a great word, and on the subject of bacon, try the tehuan ernesto somethin or other malbec. yellow top, heavy bottle, awesome bacon essence.
