Do you think Stargate Atlantis is the best tv show? For me yes!

Like to watch Stargate Atlantis episodes and also Lost. I found your blog on google and read a few of your other posts. I just added you to my Google News Reader. Look forward to reading more from you in the future.

Superb show. Alan was awesome – great video presence. Was pumped by the wines as well. I love Viognier and the Condrieu sounded wonderful. The second wine sounded good as well. I am not familiar with the magazine so I will have to check it out. It sounds rad.

Alan could be a sub for the show. He makes Gary look old.

Love Viognier. I really learned a lot this show- Condreiu was a name I’d hear occasionally but didn’t really know what it was all about. BTW- If you love the Seahawks, you get DirecTV and buy the Ticket and watch every game (as a displaced Steelers fan in RI I know all about it). QOTD: Sounds like your doing a great job, keep it up!

OK guts you were both so blown away by this, I ordered one, and I will acknowledge, that this is the MOST I have spent for a bottle yet…

    Gary,

When Alan called you ‘Honey’ at the 22 minute mark, it sure brought back a lot of memories…

GV – good guest. One thing that you need to keep in mind is that it is not always about you. You interject many times on your turn ons and experience without letting the guest speak about theirs. You will learn more about this as a parent, and a long term spouse.

Have not had many Condrieus, but am really looking forward to having some.

QOTD – many of these magazines speak to the higher end rollers and players and do not really speak to the soccer mom and middle class dad. The magazine should focus on what John and Jane Doe like in their wines, whether it is a highly developed palate, or a plonk swilling person that loves the flavor of wine.

Gary, I’m going to the World Cup with a couple friends! Let me know what you find and where I should visit for some impressive wine. We’re gonna be there the first week (mid-June) and see our game in the Cape. Wicked excited (Go England!). Totally bring the baby – start them traveling early!

Anyway, very cool guest. I’m gonna check out the magazine and get back to Alan but am excited to see something with more edge to it out there. Thanks!

GREAT to see a fellow young LA wine scene dude. We should probably join forces and see what we can do in this town! I wonder if there is a weekly tasting crew where we could meet up…

QOTD: I think I might actually go RIGHT NOW to the Mutineer site, get a 6 month subscription, and answer this question soon! Great play…

@Jessica: Drinking a bottle of the Horton Viognier right now!! Couldn’t agree more. Virginia wines are mostly unspectacular, but we seem to do Viognier pretty well.

Here’s another one to keep on the radar: Bridlewood from Santa Barbera County. Damn good, and under 20 bones.

Condrieu. Really. I’m a french-wine-geek, and that’s one AOC I’m completely unfamiliar with. Thank you, yet again.

I always keep 2 bottles of Texier just because it is so damn good.

Great video; however there are 2 things I disagree with. First and foremost, Michael Jordan is the GREATEST and secondly, I wish you would have tasted a Virginia Viognier. Corcoran Vineyards is my all time favorite Virginia Viognier; however, Pearmund Cellars and Hornton Vineyard are other excellent choices.

I’d like to see The Other 46 states featured in Mutineer Magazine.

Also, thanks to Brian and the 82nd Airborne!!!!

    Keep up the great work!

Great episode and great guest! I’m a HUGE Viognier fan and I’m going to do my best to find that Condrieu. Unfortunately, Tennessee does not let me order it so I may have to employ some persuasion to get it in stock.

Cool looking magazine, I just subscribed… how can you not for that price? VERY awesome that you’re taking input from your readers, that’s what magazines have to do these days to keep up with internet media, imo. Redefine the paradigm!

    Gary,

Never left a comment before (although we’ve certainly emailed back and forth a few times). Funny too, since I think I’ve now been watching since the 200’s or something crazy like that.

At any rate – this morning Eric Texier came to our winery and the three of us tasted through our barrels for several hours with him. A very great and humbling honor. I felt compelled to tell him about this and post a comment afterward.

Me: Hey! Did you see your Condrieu was just on Gary Vaynerchuk’s show?

Eric (confused): Who ees theese guy? I do not know him.

(So I got my laptop from the office and pulled up this episode…)

Me: This is very popular. A lot of people watch this.

Eric (bemused): Theese guy ees kind of a crazy guy I think…

Me: Look, he just swallowed your wine! He never does that with anybody’s wine!

Eric (laughing): I like thees. Yes, I think theese guy ees the kind of guy to sell a lot of wine. Can you send thees show to me?

Suffice to say, he was definitely pleased by your reaction and it was a great pleasure to be the one to show this to him. Made him a rightfully proud vigneron.

PS- The best fun fact of the day for the kiddies? Eric told us afterward that he ages that Condrieu in acacia barrels. I thought that was pretty awesome and I thought you’d appreciate it.

QOTD: You would have to secure these from a few collectors, but I’d like to see an article that covered a retrospective tasting of random mass-market beverages that failed miserably – ie. Crystal Pepsi, Orbitz, etc.

Great show, for some reason I’m in a spendy mood and I think I will seek out the Condrieu. It seems like something I’ve been looking for.

QOTD: I don’t know, I think I will subscribe and check it out, and then maybe a marketing internship in the summer of 2010 :)

Yo Guys, GRRRRRREAAAAAAAT Episode!!!! Looooooooove Condrieu (& various

A million times better than the debacle in SD. A knowledgeable guest paired with some doggone good ABC wines. Since I am a day late with watching this episode, it was ironic I was on a Viognier buying excursion yesterday to a nice little wine shop in Fredericksburg, VA.

QOTD: I’m always a big fan of wine pairings so do a “Ten Best Wine Pairings” or something to that effect.

Gary, I’m wondering. Does it ever bother you how much wine you flat-out waste? Tossing, spitting, rinsing…it breaks my heart, man. I shudder to think how many glasses, bottles, cases, etc, you must burn through in a day, week, month, year. Have you ever contemplated this??

QOTD: Just subscribed so Ill be in touch regarding content…recently ended my subscription to WE. Seemed so corporate and inauthentic. I think they are still in the 90s paradigm, so I hope to find a fresh new look on the beverage industry from your print.

QOTD: I’d be interested in home winemaking, home brewing, and sshhhh (home distilling…)

    Great show!
