QOTD — my favorite is an Hungarian cheese (don’t have the spelling available), which is a bit like a richer provolone

  • You forgot PA in your sad, neglected list!

QOTD: Asking for a favorite cheese is just crazy. But I just tried the Beemster recently and it was heaven! http://gourmetlibrary.com/products/6616-Beemster-XO

Thanks for the episode. My first job was at a French Provalcal-Style bistro. I remember one of the wines we always had was the Jaboulet Crozes Hermitages. I’m excited to try this other one, it sounds great.

QOTD: Camembert. I remember being in Paris and grabbing some Camembert, a bagette, some broccoli and some mustard and making just this delicious, simple sandwich. Everything’s better in France of course though. Anyway, cheers.

Jaboulet has been trough a lot in the last decade or so and the quality has slipped. They lost Jerard and were sold to a Bordelais company that owns LaLagune. I hope they can rally and make wines like they did in the 70s and 80s.

QOTD. 12 month old Mancheggo. Also Vaccherin Mont d’Or, Langres, Eppoisse, Comte, Gorganzola Dulce, Cave aged Gruyere, the list goes on.
