I always get roasted strawberry from grenache, usually with a kick of white pepper depending on how prominent it is in the blend. Awesome episode, tight, focused, and clear.
I like the TV idea, its cool.
I usually buy wine because I love wine and also I drink it everyday, I would like to see some $13-$20/bottle California Cab’s featured. Its nice to have $100/bottle wine once in a while for a special occasion, but I feel like people will appreciate lower price range choices more. Thanks.

Great idea to get a short video “story” behind the wines at home as time in the store is usually limited. The video segments should help expand my wine-ducation. Bring on the smell-o-vision!

Great Idea, I think a lot of people would enjoy seeing this type of thing moving forward. I would recommend raising the production value; adding a couple of lights that really allow the viewer to see the wine, cropping tighter, and changing the composition. I am a huge fan of your website, and the customer service I haved recieved, and find this greatly enhancing my interactive experience. Great.

I really feel that this video blog is a great idea. It makes me want to go out there and learn more about wines. I see great potential of encouragement coming to me from these videos, and I am enthusiatic to research more about types of wines and expand my knowledge by including your video as an educational experience. Thank you for opening my palette and senses to something new!

Like the concept alot
Criticism: Say something more about the wine.
For this wine you said “Strawberry grenache nose, good finish and classic CdP midpalate.
That is not a description of what the wine tastes like. I noted that in you other vlog also. DESCRIBE what the wine tastes like!!

Gary,
Loved the video, but can’t help but feel you left some important info out. Is the wine ready to drink? Could it stand some more time in the bottle? What changes could be expected in the wine with additional ageing?

I’ve enjoyed CDP’s at restaurants from time to time, but I’ve never made an effort to educate myself on the producers in this region. Although I’ve made it a common practice to pick out great QPR Cotes du Rhone wines simply because it isn’t to hard to score some great finds for under 15 bucks. I know that there are plenty of awesome CDP wines out there that can be had for about $40 a bottle. Not a huge jump in price, but a leap in enjoyment and complexity.

I love the Chateauneuf Du Pape but have not yet tried Caves De Colombe. Too bad it is out of stock at W.L.

I like how you are trying wines that I may never otherwise hear about. There are so many winaries out there, it makes it so hard to find out about some of them.

Emeril refernece, have to say, he ought to be referencing you as a notable personality in the near future. Too bead I didn’t see this when it was released, can’t buy Chateauneuf du Pape for that anymore.

Mr.Ambassador
Like to see that you’re carrying some of these wines which have a limited availability (outside of a few restaurants). I like the additional background you’ve provided concerning the winemaker; makes a wine more of an experience and these little details help form a lasting memory (particularly when heard while sampling a bottle).
Wish I could get the opportunity to try this CDP, but I have a feeling it would be difficult to locate here in Washington State.

2 Things – 1st the wall behind you is completely blank and boring – it’s weird to see how even your surroundings get more animated. 2nd – you left a comment with the users – something you don’t do anymore. I know you read the posts but you should leave some comments with us!

I’m glad I am watching some old episodes, because this past weekend I purchased a couple Chateauneuf Du Pape wines. I have drank lot’s of american syrah and australian shiraz, but for some reason not from France.
I look for this one in the future.
