Oddly enough, I just Googled “tannins in tea”, and found this comment:

“If you add milk to your tea, the tannins attack the proteins in the milk rather than those in your mouth, and the taste is much less astringent.”

I suspect that is the exact reason cheese helps mellow a tannic red wine…

Tony…great video. I wouldn’t call it a spoof because you presented a real review. Thanks, as well for sharing photos from the house. I really liked your website. I’m a very beginner photographer, and I enjoy taking landscape shots. I’ve been told that I have a good eye and frame shots very well. Anyway, keep up the good work.

You’re right. I never thought about that, but since both wines were non-WL wines, I guess WLTV II is a misnomer. I’m sure Gary doesn’t mind though, since I didn’t give a big recommendation to either one. I don’t think Gary is worried about competing with Two Buck Chuck, and I know he isn’t worried about Costco – he said so in that WSJ interview.

Excellent analogy about structure and complexity…Im am def going to use that one! I think it would be interesting to see you compare Malbec from Argentinia vs Cahors…just a thought. As far as what I am reading right now, its a book by Mark Haddon called “The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time”. Its a book written from the perspective of a boy with autism. I am a special education teacher and I highly recommend it to anyone who works with those with autism or knows anyone with autism. Have a great weekend, GO SABRES!!

I had one of the best dinners of my life last night at Joe’s Stone Crab in Chicago. The tableside service of Alaskan King Crab Legs was unreal. Paired it with a 2004 Henri Boillot Puligny-Montrachet. The service and food was sensational. If anyone wants to eat seafood in Chicago, I’d highly recommend this incredible restaurant…

Hi Gary, today was the first time I went to The Wine Library, it was amazing! I was also at the Super Tasting on Monday night and was pleased with the huge selections of wine and the great food. Can’t wait for next year’s event. Wine Library TV is funny and informative..I will be sure to watch future episodes!

Here’s tonight….the family went to a wedding and each table had a red and a white. I immediately went for the red before the white. The red was the Trader Joes coastal merlot 2004..I had to switch to white right away. The white was 2004 Camelot Chardonnay…one word….pass.
Came home, bought the UFC fight on PPV, and opened a bottle of 2004 Merry Edwards Klopp Ranch 2004 Pinot Noir….ahhhh, life is back to normal…..
