    Nice episode.

I’ve been a fan of wine/hot dog pairing for a few years now.

Mustard all the way with a fruit bomb shiraz will provide your palate with an experience it has never had before and won’t forget. Give it a whirl.

  • Know what? A lot of people just would have killed you for what you did … tsk, tsk, pairing a bordeaux, ‘notre vin sacré avèc du pain, une saucisse et du choucroute!’ Blasphemy!
I think this kind of sane anarchy is just great. How we hate in wine master classes those would-be’s sniffing their wine with their nose stuck as if glued in their glass. OK, wine is a cult(ure) product (as good beer is), but it is still a drink. Anyway, QOTD: a Chablis ‘Les Vaillons’ 1er cru from Long-Dépaquit with popcorn and a Banfi Brunello with chocolate fudge and pumpkin pancake. I really am not a fan of Banfi (very awkward Brunello if youn ask me), but with this food, mmm, delicious …

HAHAHA, Gary, ignore everyone that tells you to swallow. You need to spit that out so you can still do the show without hiccuping! We’re not going to be able to understand you if it gets out of control. Great ep as usual!

Lol. Great episode Gary. I will have to try the hot dog test………uhh, I mean dance.

QOD: I can’t really say that I have done a lot of weird food-wine pairings but one that I know is not too popular is pairing wine with spicy, mexican food (burritos, chili, etc.). I enjoy a nice big CA zin with these foods when I know deep down, an ice cold cerveza would be the right way to go……..

Best show ever! I felt like you were one of my co-workers and we were goofing around in the office on a Friday. Nailing the hiccup was priceless. I was hoping you would use the spit bucket for the hot dog.
QOTD – If I haven’t had wine with dinner (or even sometimes when I have) I’ll sometimes sip some wine with some chocolate afterwards. The Woot Cellars Monkey Prize seems to go well with chocolate. It’s fruity and has a little cinnamon to it.

Gary you eat your dogs just like a dog. Gulp Gulp it’s gone. Slow down enjoy the fine nuances of cow fat, mixed with cheeks, tongues and bladders.

  • RaphaelShea

I’ve always liked the combination of sushi and red wine. Most say that a white works best, but sometimes a white makes sushi with raw fish taste fishy. A good red like a zin or a lower priced cab go great with the sushi and a good dip in the soy sauce and wasabi. It’s a tastebud rush.

On July 4th, I will dip all 70 of my hot dogs in 2003 Chateau Montviel instead of water!

QOTD: In summer I get into Savignon Blancs, even if I’m eating a heavily peppered rib eye.
