QOTD: just found this new site… http://www.google.com

    joking of course.

top 2: http://www.pitchforkmedia.com for all your independent music needs
http://www.digg.com for when u need to waste an hour at work.

  • Gary: Would that Cab Franc be worth tasting in a few years once it’s opened up?

QOTD: You mean there are sites that aren’t about wine?! Oh yeah, I’ve designed a bunch of them! I’m on Magnolia, as well. I’ll have to go with Flickr.com. GREAT social aspects, GREAT ways to find other people’s photos. Just super plastic fantastic.

  • JonE

Welcome back Cotter, hope your still stuffed with scones. Or pissed on good claret.

Side QOTD: have totally had a Semillon before, I sell the Torbreck at my stores. What about the Hobbs Late Harvest Semillon? Now there’s a tasty sticky.

QOTD: http://www.japanese-knife.com, everybody needs a good gyuto right?

Best site on the web – hands down – http://www.castletitle.com. The more you visit and send my company title work, the more that I can sned to Wine Library and a college fund for the kids that Gary doesn’t have… yet. You never can start saving too early for those things, you now. And, who said that a little shameless self promotion is a bad thing? Hell, maybe I can even buy some air time on WLTV. Come on, Gary, you know you want to mention Castle Title on tomorrow’s show.

Graville-Lacoste Bordeaux Blanc is Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon and is delicious. QOTD – I like http://www.slate.com for news opinions and the occasional wine article. Thanks for not “phoning it in” this week, though we loved the tea episode. You will certainly tape shows based on your adventures with the winner of the T-shirt contest, won’t you?

Gary, who could forget Eddie Van Halens magical guitar riff on Wacko Jackos “Thriller” or Weird Al’s rendition, but what I long for is an aged Tyrrell’s semillon from the Hunter. PS My most frequented non wine website is http://www.webernation.com and links.

    Gary,

    Great show as always !

QOD : Chateau Y’grec – the dry white of Chateau D’yquem. Chateau Y’grec is only produced in certain years when the botrytis on the Semillion has not developed to a point where they can make a Chateau D’yquem.

Still watching everyday from Hong Kong.

    Good show Gary…
People out there, try the Condado de Haza 2003, it’s well worth it! I live in Valencia, Spain where it sells for 10-12 euros and it has become my go-to wine for many occasions… BTW, other GREAT Spanish values in the same price range include Bodegas Juan Gil Juan Gil 2003 (same guys who do the Clio GV loves so much…) and Bodegas Mustiguillo Mestizaje, a very funky wine based on indigenous Bobal grape (Fruit-bomb Shiraz fans, seek this out!!)…I’d be nice to see GV feature them one day!
Never had a dry 100% semillon wine either, only in Sauternes or Bordeaux blends…

And for all of you who have questions about life, just http://www.askaninja.com !!! Hilarious site!

  • side qotd – never had semillion. How would you say it compares with a Loire Chenin Blanc? I think those have a lot of honey flavor.
