QOTD: My relationship with the three guys I was closest to in college. Nowadays we see each other once or twice a year on our Vegas trips and that’s it, but it’s one of those things where I don’t care at all what anyone thinks of me and they are the same way and we can really truly have fun together with no worries.

If you watch the video closely Dick looks a little disappointed with Vaynerchucks score. It would be interesting to know what score Vermeil was hoping for…. Great episode though

Great to see some guests on again. Do you taste all the guest wines before you bring them on. I’ve never seen you hate a guest’s wine. If you did end up despising a wine maker’s effort that’d be a little *aaaawwwwkwaard*.

QOTD: Intrestingly enough the truest thing in my life is also the fakest – that would be the Theatre (i’m a scenic/lighting designer).

I love that, after watching you for a while,we can pick up on what you REALLY think of a wine by your facial expression.
If I could give a suggestion – when you have winemakers on, taste wines that are under $20. In my memory, a wine really has to “bring the thunder” to get past the Winelibrary QPR if it’s in the over 30 bones price range. And it’s sad to have a guest on and not be able to recommend his juice with dinner tonight.
Maybe you just taste one wine and spend the other 20 minutes talking to the winemaker about his methods and the area? Maybe he even gets to answer some twitter questions?

This is weird…the family just watched “Invincible” on Sunday evening and Coach shows up at WLTV on Monday! How cool! This is one of the things I love about wine. Wine lovers span all demographics. You never know who you might meet at any given wine event. Kinda like Forrest Gump and his box of chocolates.
Given GV’s reaction to the wines and considering the cost, I think I might be interested in only trying the Charbono. I appreciate your honesty, Gary.

Wow! What a cool episode. I love Calistoga(been there 3 times) and am going again late summer. I’ll have to see if my stepdad knows of this winery(native CA man and Stanford alumnus and loves football) and maybe check it out in person! I take it the Syrah didn’t float your boat(rather made it with all its wood)…those coy knowing looks into the camera…hahaha! I will definitely be checking out these wines when available.
