I realize everyone is saying it but… No tears from Dick?!! But how awesome is it that he was on here? Especially seeing as I’m from KC, that’s really cool.

QOTD: My relationship with the three guys I was closest to in college. Nowadays we see each other once or twice a year on our Vegas trips and that’s it, but it’s one of those things where I don’t care at all what anyone thinks of me and they are the same way and we can really truly have fun together with no worries.

If you watch the video closely Dick looks a little disappointed with Vaynerchucks score. It would be interesting to know what score Vermeil was hoping for…. Great episode though

QOTD: My close friends and family, my dogs, and my garden.

Big G., Paul Smith, AND DICK VERMEIL sharing the WLTV screen?! Rediculous- I’m TRULY happy for you, Gary, that your two great passions were able to converge today with the guests on the show.

QOTD: My gut belief and unwavering faith that my work ethic to persue my passion will eventually lead me to where I want and need to be in my professional and personal life. Additionally, my huge Italian family and our care for one another is easily near the top of the list of the truest things in my life.

Just started watching after hearing about you on Diggnation. I’ve backtracked and watched about 15 of your old videos. Totally awesome. I’ve become completely interested in wine, and I have a lot to learn.

    Just keep them coming!

Great to see some guests on again. Do you taste all the guest wines before you bring them on. I’ve never seen you hate a guest’s wine. If you did end up despising a wine maker’s effort that’d be a little *aaaawwwwkwaard*.

QOTD: Intrestingly enough the truest thing in my life is also the fakest – that would be the Theatre (i’m a scenic/lighting designer).

  • Gary,
I love that, after watching you for a while,we can pick up on what you REALLY think of a wine by your facial expression.
If I could give a suggestion – when you have winemakers on, taste wines that are under $20. In my memory, a wine really has to “bring the thunder” to get past the Winelibrary QPR if it’s in the over 30 bones price range. And it’s sad to have a guest on and not be able to recommend his juice with dinner tonight.
Maybe you just taste one wine and spend the other 20 minutes talking to the winemaker about his methods and the area? Maybe he even gets to answer some twitter questions?

QOTD – My Jimmy’s love for me. I am humbled daily that someone can love me so much.

Gary, keep up the good work. You’re going all-star on us what with your takeover of the online wine world.

This is weird…the family just watched “Invincible” on Sunday evening and Coach shows up at WLTV on Monday! How cool! This is one of the things I love about wine. Wine lovers span all demographics. You never know who you might meet at any given wine event. Kinda like Forrest Gump and his box of chocolates.
Given GV’s reaction to the wines and considering the cost, I think I might be interested in only trying the Charbono. I appreciate your honesty, Gary.
    Truest thing: My Family.

What a great episode!! I knew Vermeil was a wine lover but I can’t believe you got him on.

Don’t be shy with guests and stop covering your mouth when you talk, haha.

Anyway kudos, very enjoyable and I’m glad Dick was able to hold back the tears for the episode. 😛

QOTD: The knowledge that no matter what happens I have my family and friends behind me in whatever I do.

  • Great episode, I’m sure you had a great time discussing some NFL action with Vermeil. I didn’t know he was such a wine avocate, shows that tough guys have a soft side after all, eh?

  • Great episode, but I agree–wondering how you’d play it if you really disliked the wines. What would the TN be? “This is, uh, really *interesting*!” 😀

QOTD: Being with people who love you and whom you truly love. Hackneyed response? Yeah. True? You bet…

Wow! What a cool episode. I love Calistoga(been there 3 times) and am going again late summer. I’ll have to see if my stepdad knows of this winery(native CA man and Stanford alumnus and loves football) and maybe check it out in person! I take it the Syrah didn’t float your boat(rather made it with all its wood)…those coy knowing looks into the camera…hahaha! I will definitely be checking out these wines when available.

QOTD: That little voice inside my head who I sometimes ignore…even though it says things so true…the truest things.
