Cat Tails are what grow in the lagoons, see them trying to find my golf balls that just love to go swimming.

QOTD: Domaine Pichot Le Peu De La Moriette Vouvray, Kim Crawford Sauvignon Blanc and Dr. Loosen Reisling

Instant classic! That was incredible, Gary. And we finally find out why the Oak Monster is trying to do the overly macho thing – He’s Gay! I think if he wants to come out of the closet we should all support him – just as long as he stays out of our wine.

QOTD: NZ sauv blanc all the way. And alsacian wines, specifically “Gentil” buy Hugel – great value.

    HI Gary,
I love to have a nice Pinot Grigio Riesling

  • Bill mondavi

Thank you for the value picks Gary. I will be looking for those the next time I come into the store.

Am I the person where the video froze at 20 minutes and wouldnâ??t start again? I am downloading the quicktime version now, I want to see what you score the Beringer wine.

  • I’ve noticed many ‘Jon’s and ‘Jon B’s here so from here on out I’m going with Julava…

The American nickname for that plant you mentioned is cat tails or punks, BUT the actual name is typha. Another similar plant you see everywhere here in NJ (and taking over)…phragmites. Google it!

Thanks for opening my wine mind. I have been a red only guy. Now thanks to you and this show, I am trying and loving various wines. Lately mainly white, but I even tried a Rose. I am enjoying my new adventure in the wine world.

Great episode…got back from bordeaux about a week ago with a few rare bottles, notably a 2004 Lucia (94 RP) from St. Emilion…very limited production but came highly recommended by staff as best QPR in store…last bottle just reminded me of it
QOTD: Alsace/Finger Lakes Riesling or a Beaujolais if I’m having burgers

    What?!? no hot dogs?

I love a Chenin Blanc (chilled). Pine Ridge makes one that is always a treat.

Great show, just not at 11pm at night (UK time!). Careful on the German though, Trocken = dry, but Trockenbeerenauslese = the polar opposite of dry, don’t get them confused.

QOTD – Spanish Tempranillo based Rosadas – chilled.

I’m tired of being yelled at for being a lurker so I’m actually taking 30 seconds to comment.
    Good episode.
Been drinking some prosecco’s for the summer.. but red’s are still my favorite.
I’ve been drinking red cab fruit bombs lately…

Free.winelb is killing me every week because I can’t NOT order at least once a week.

Excellent episode Gary! See you tonight in NY.

QOTD: Surprisingly Chardonnay. I LOVE that chards have the ability to vary heavily from vintner to vintner. Some may disagree, but who cares about them. =)

Awesome show all around, ma man! You really brought the thunder today! 🙂

QOTD: So far… Ironstone Obsession, made from the ‘Symphony’ grape (a hybrid between Muscat of Alexandria and Grenache Gris). Awesome nose! And, I’m sure that some of my love for this one has to do with a hugely memorable romantic afternoon a couple years ago! 😛

One note for the website crew… The new animated ‘Shwag’ images object messes with the smooth flow of the WLTV episode video on my sad machine. Every time the photo changes, Gary get’s all choppy. Great look to the new site, though. Keep up the good work!

Great show Gary! I didnâ??t have time to comment on it yesterday but in honour of you putting on such a great show I gave it a shout out in my Wine Appreciation class, so I think you will see some new Canadian Vanyiacs from that. I love Rieslings and Sancerre in the summer.
