QotD: I like the fruity stuff in the summer, stuff fruity enough to go with my ice pops!! A Muscadine from Highland Manor in Tennessee is a pretty tasty treat my wife and I have been loving.

I knew you were going to do this as a theme. VERY BRAVE MAN! Yesterday it was absolutely disgusting out in New Jersey for anyone not from the area.

Great job trying out the summer whites. I really need to explore chenin blanc and it looks like the teddy hall is a great entry to the varietal. I am surprised you did so many chards and not a sauvignon blanc, a prosecco, or more rieslings.

Gary- For a slight variation on the cattail/punk comments, in the Midwest cattails are cattails, but punks are sold at fireworks stands, are about a foot long and when you light the business end on fire, it stays burning for 15-20 minutes or so, allowing you to light off mucho fireworks on the same punk. Very effective, and obviously an idea based on burning cattails.

QOTD: If I ever go buy another bottle, it’ll be the Forest Glen White Merlot. Until then, I’ll probably eventually open up my Tidal School Oklahoma Chardonnay.

A lot of good stuff in this episode, Gary. No rules (about wine). Don’t buy ratings. Trust yourself. Try new stuff. Wine is tougher than we give it credit for. Enjoy life. Tell your people you love them. Good stuff.

QOTD. Hmmm. Depends on the food. (Pretty much the only time I drink wine by itself is at tastings.) I really like Sardinian vermentino. For summer sipping, maybe vinho verde.

My Dad gets those same comments! I am 35 yrs old…married 11 yrs…with two kids… I ALWAYS give my parents a kiss and tell them I love them…believe it or not – I kiss my Mother-In-Law and tell her I love her too… With out our parents – where would WE be? That should be the next question of the day 😉
