There are the Cabs and the Cabs Not. I choose to be one of the Cabs. I liked the recent episode where you brought some cheeeeeeese into the picture. Any thoughts on what would go with my favvvvorite cheeeeeeese – Good old English Blue Stilton?

    Cheers

I’d like to share that glass with Thomas Jefferson,
    and he’s buying!

You had me worried there for a while. I thought my hearing was going! I was surprised at the variable quality, esp. the $66 bottle that was so disappointing. You think that if you’re paying that kind of money, you must be getting something decent. Apparently, not so. Thanks for helping us to see that we have to be cautious.

Don – sorry to hear about your problems. I hope things turn around for you. Have a glass of wine – at least things will seem better. 8-))

63 days until what? MY BIRTHDAY of course! If I’m counting correctly, 63 days would be August 31st, a date when yours truly was born during a hurricane in Scranton, PA a mere 52 years ago. Seems like just yesterday……

What a chucklehead! Forgot the QOTD. I would like to share a glass of wine with my dad, may he rest in peace. He passed away at the young age of 63 and that was 13 years ago. I miss him. We were both too young to say goodbye.

QOTD: My maternal grandmother. She was a wonderful woman, and an amazing cook – I only wish I would have been able to get to know her better as an adult (she passed away when I was 13). She was also a big wine enthusiast.

I’d love to share a glass with Mark Twain. Something tells me he’s have some great stories to tell after a few glasses.

Hey Don. Thinking of you here in the UK… where incidentally I used to work for the (Sir) Peter Michael mentioned in today’s show. Knew about the vinyard but never saw any of the wine. Not even at Christmas – a time when many enjoy Stilton with a glass of Port… and even some Scots oatcakes!

QOTD: I was just having a similar conversation with a friend of mine this evening. Even though I’m not a big fan otherwise, I would love to share a bottle of wine with Bill Clinton. I just heard him speak at a conference that I attended last week. Jimmy Carter would also be cool. There are lots of deceased people that I’d like to share wine with, but that’s a whole ‘nother thing. Good question, though.

G-Man: Great, great episode. You ran the gamut but I must disagree with the similarities of CA Cab with Julia Roberts? Really? I’m thinking more like Salma Hayek.

I also want to give a major shout-out to Don. Get better and I’ll raise a glass to your health.

QOTD: This is easy. It has to be Thomas Jefferson. Believe it or not, the wine geeks of the US have alot to be thankful for in his pursuitt of fine wine and commerce between countries. I’m sure if he were president today there would be no debate over states and “direct shipping.”

    Cheers!

P.S. I’m guessing the Sebastiani cab is better than the Mt Veeder? 🙂

Don, we’re all tinking about ya!! Feel better soon!!!
Gary, listen, we’ll always be with you, no matter how grey you get. I swear.
OH MY GOD… I’m gonna need some of that Coup de Foudre!!!!!!!!!!! It sounds like it would send me to the moon…
QOTD: (And it’s funny, we asked that question, except about a cup of coffee, at our first orientation class for new Starbucks hires!)
My answer is: this person I cannot name (I know, big tease, but I just can’t) who has had a standing invitation to have wine with me for about a year now and we just couldn’t get it together… for many many reasons… and it makes me sad. I still have the bottle in my wine fridge… I don’t know how long I’ll save it until I realize the meeting isn’t going to happen… Don’t worry; it is a good cab, and it will last a while…
