QOTD: Cab Franc and dry Pinot Blanc if I’m being creative, or perhaps Mourvedre and Gruner Veltliner. Still pretty hard to beat the classic Rhone combos. Grenache, Roussanne, Marsanne. Yum. As far as blending 2 reds, how about syrah and cab franc?

    Guiness and Bass = Heaven.

WOO HOO!!! I feel so validated. Check out my corkd.com review for the Terlato&Chapoutier Shiraz/Viognier at http://www.corkd.com/wine/view/30195-Terlato___Chapoutier_Shiraz_Viognier. No wonder I like GV’s palate so much. But enough bragging. Thanks for doing this one for me GV!

QOTD: I would like to try Petite Sirah/Gewürztraminer blend. Does it already exist?

And I was thinking Petite Sirah too… It is the ultimate blending grape. As the varietal child of Syrah/Shiraz, it would be interesting to see how it’s similar to and different from papa’s blends with Shiraz.

Also, PS with Cali/French Sauv Blanc… the NZ is too citrusy, and that wouldn’t blend well… or would it?

Where can I get that shirt?

  • Merlot with unoaked minimal ML Chardonnay. Why? Mostly because there’s so darn much of it growing around my area…

  • Neil D

Don’t mess with my man Yinka! He saved GW basketball in ’92 and ’93.

And i’m definitely gonna go look for the 2005 Terlato & Chapoutier. I was feeling pretty low when I started watching this episode (long day at work), but now i’m pumped about finding this wine. Gary, your enthusiasm saved my day!

QOTD: Petit verdot & pinot gris . . . why not?

Four for Four, now that’s what i’m talking about! I’m definitely going to seek some of those out because the concept sounds intriguing. There are some good old-style chianti that incorporates white grapes. I was thinking maybe a sangiovese & semillon blend.

Had Mr. Riggs earlier in the week, liked it a bit more than you but then again when I had it it wasn’t sandwiched between the two superstars you had either. Concur on the chocolate/raspberry.

Three more added to my already bulging cart.

Kangaroo dining in a suit? Are you sure you haven’t been hitting the absinthe?

QOTD – not a clue, I haven’t gotten far enough into whites to intelligently suggest anything (not that it’s every detered me in the past).

    Godspeed

QOTD: 7% Marsanne, 83% Petite Sirah, 10% Merlot.

QOTD: Not sure so I will go a little crazy on you here … Semillon and Zinfandel. Why? ‘Cause I am not a big fan of some of the over-peppered Zins and wonder if the Semillon might tone it down a little to the pint of my liking??????

Grenache and Semillon? I don’t know!
