haters gonna hate. let ’em hate.
It’s the cursing I could do without. You are far to intelligent and articulate to use foul language.

Great show today. Gotta love the Thundercats baby! Ultimate dinner would have to be a surf and turf style with jumbo prawns and beef tenderloin, maybe a port sauce or something. Although I haven’t yet had the opportunity to try many life-changing wines I think it would be a ’61 Margaux or something to that effect, although that wouldn’t go with the prawns but whatever. D’Equem for dessert perhaps? And shared with my girlfriend and her father (maybe that seems weird but he got me into wine so I would have to include him).

At first I thought you were tired from travelling when the intro was subdued. I must say that I always look forward to the next episode because it is fresh not canned. It is hard to generalize about your audience but just from the comments section I’d say there is a wide spectrum from the wine geeks to the hedonists in training. Another appealing aspect of your show is your honesty and integrity. I have great respect for anyone that is so good at what they do that they make it look easy.

Professor Emile Peynaud changed the winemaking in Bordeaux and started the modern movement towards quality. His protege Michel Rolland is often brought in to consult with the top producers in both hemispheres of the wine world. Robert Parker changed the wine world with his prolific tasting notes and 100 point scale. His ultimate advice is to trust your own palate. It is probably a sign of Gary’s influence when he starts to receive these slings and arrows of outrageous fortune. Gary could make QPR the next big thing….

There was a lot going on visually in today’s show with the Thundercats and the wheels of cheese. I wish we had smellerama…

All of the food suggestions were so good that I could hardly pick my own QOTD. How many courses and wines am I allowed? Who will drive me home?

Let’s see, I’ll go Old World.

Taittingers Blanc de Blanc with Petrossian Caviar.

Crab Imperial with Coche-Dury Corton Charlemagne

Rack of Lamb with Chateau Ausone

    Stilton fruit and Fonseca

Hines Triomphe Cognac (if wintertime) with a few walnuts to crack.

A Brazilian Samba dancer would be nice…I mean my wife of course!

Vayner-Haters… there’s always haters hanging around waiting to pounce on anyone who threatens how they believe things should be. They can take the 90+ Reobert Parkers and cork their arse with it. The Vayner-nation will rise and conquer the Vayner-haters.

    Keep the Crusade Alive.
    Viva La Vaynerchuck!

Mmmmmmmm…. SLIDERS! You should do a tasting with Sliders and boxed wine. Seriously… how awesome would that be?

The best of Boxed Wine… talk about sticking it to the Vayner-haters! That would light them up!

    Fun show! F the snobs.

GV, do me a favor, when the OAK MONSTER makes an appearence, give us a little more detail as to what form he is taking that day, i.e. butter, dairy, vanilla, just plain wood. Thanks Gary!!

QOTD: Too many to pick just one, however all include meat, carbs, good wine with family and close friends.

Was in Walla Walla for there Spring release and while there was a lot of very good wine, anything under $40 was generally mediocre. However many of the wineries were new. Also, since their last frost kill off, it seams at lot of the grapes used are coming from other Washington AVAs.
QOTD: How could anyone just choose one? Maybe I’m just to indecisive these days.

  • Hey Gary — I’ve been sitting on this a while, but you have to try a 2005 Borsao Red Table Wine (75% Garnacha/25% Tempranillo). I got it for $8 in Ohio, and I thought it was a great valued nestle-quick bomb you might enjoy. I don’t know if it’s available in your store though…

“Ruining it for everybody”??? Just who does that jerkoff think “everybody” is? People who hate FUN???

I look forward to WLTV every day in part because of your tremendous energy. It’s great to see someone so excited about wine. I’m excited about wine too! And as someone who’s relatively new to wine, I can say that you have played a big role in taking away the intimidation factor for me, and helped me to learn a lot about tasting.

I also LOVE that QPR plays a big role in most of the shows. Most of us can’t afford to drop $100 on wine for an everyday dinner. And that’s just fine. You can get great wines at good prices, and anyone who’d turn their nose up at a wine because simply because it’s not expensive is just a fool. (And you know what they say about a fool and his money, haha.)

Keep up the good work, Gary! And thanks for standing up for all the Vayniacs!

    *hugs*

QOTD: Ack, that would be hard to say! I love so many different kinds of food. Hmmm…. I’m not sure that this is my ultimate dinner, so much as my favorite dinner, haha.

Sushi and Dr. Loosen Riesling with my fiance, Ben.

QOTD: Maybe a grilled piece of thick beef like a RibEye – Solid bottleS of wine, big and Red – And probably the boys, because I will laugh with them and get to eat like a glutton without the guilt from the wife.

    Loved the intro.

QOTD: L’Atelier de Joel Robuchon tasting menu, wine pairings suggested by the sommelier, I would say with my wife but she hates this kind of food, so I have to find a real foodie to go with … I went to the L’Atelier in Las Vegas and had a GREAT meal by myself.

  • The Detective

For what its worth GV – I don’t think you’re an imbecile and your palate is RIGHT ON! You’re what got me into wine and now I’ve got all my friends into it too. Food tastes better in The Vaynerchuk Era – I take time out like never before to sniff and swirl my food around. Your show is about more than wine – it offers unpretentious enjoyment of all the things life has to offer. And that is a profound thing.

Got to be kidding! One of the biggest markets for wine drinkers is the 21 to 40-ish crowd. The Wine Library is innovative, informative, entertaining and approachable. It’s the wine snobs who ruin it for everyone.

Too many favorites to choose from: Maybe Boston “Lobsta” and “steamas” with a bottle of bubbly, fresh bread on the side – wicked awesome!
    or
A good steak on the grill, with grilled veggies (summer squash, zuchinni) paired with 2002 Yalumba Signature Cab/Shiraz.

Changes with the seasons, but my favs for now.

Wow Gary, amazing show! You are truly a breath of fresh air.
QOTD: Tagleiatelle with fresh white truffles grated on top (the most mind blowing thing I have ever eaten) and and old Barolo with either my whole family or just my honey.

Hey, Gary! Don’t take it personaly, man! Somebody used to say something like “if everybody likes you then you are not really changing things” and you are really trying to change things, right? So don’t worry about the critics and keep doing what you’re doing.

QOTD. A platter of stinky cheese and a good baguette, a nice aged Bordeaux (or a CdP) and my lovely wife. That’s perfection!
