QOTD: Over-consumption. Maybe it’s part of being a former nutrition major, but over-consumption of food in this country has gone way too far. Obesity has become an epidemic here. More-so, over consumption of alcohol has come to my attention lately, and it ruins the whole concept of enjoying wine or beer or whatever for what it is. Wine can be enjoyed without consuming it to the point of intoxication, and I wish more people did that rather than saying, “I don’t care what it tastes like as ling as it does the trick.”
The message: enjoy wine for what it is, what it can “bring to the table,” and the friends it can bring together.

QOTD: What makes me sick? SMOKERS! How can you possibly do something so gross and harmful to your body in a day and age when we know exactly how many people it kills each year! Even if you don’t care about yourself, think about the OTHER PEOPLE who’s health is affected by YOUR smoke! It’s disgusting and I struggle to have even a little bit of respect for people who smoke.

The other thing that makes me sick – POLITICS. I know it’s what keeps the world running and it’s important and blah blah blah… but the crap that goes on within the political world makes me sick. People are mostly selfish and cruel and somehow they get to run the world. I exercise my right to vote, but otherwise I stay as far away from politics as I can cause the more I know about it the more I feel it’s evil poisoning my soul.

Good show Gary… thanks for finding some value wines to try! Hopefully you’ll actually like a few in the upcoming shows!

To your point about the enjoyable vaction wine. Most people also comment that the wine in Europe has no sulfites, thus no headache. Please tell everyone that all wine has sulfites, and the Italian wine purchased in the US, is not different than that wine drank in Italy…..Love your show!
