  • F-A-N frikken T-A-S-T-I-C show GV! Craft brews are awesome. I can’t wait for you to taste some great Belgian Trappist and Abbey ales, some other double and tripels, white beers, and wheat beers.
Oh, I’m gonna post a fantastic Pumpkin Rissoto recipe on the WLTV recipe forum this weekend. Pumpkin heads and non-Pumpkin heads alike really dig it!

Woah, now here’s a unique show! I’ve tried the Schlerkerla Marzen before and I must say, it’s quite unique. Smells and tastes of smoked sausages and I like it! I hope you can do more beer episodes in the future Gary! If not beer, then maybe some other beverage or food!

    GARY!
Loved the episode!! Although I am primarily a wine drinker now, I went to college at CHICO STATE and still live in the town of Chico. Tell ANTHONY (comments) that Chico State college students learned how to drink great beer right out of the gates. I currently live down the road from Sierra Nevada Brewery and go there often for business lunches, dinner, etc… You have to go there someday Gary and do their beer sampler! They sample about 12 beers and pretty much all of them bring the thunder. The Sierra Nevada Porter is one of my favorites… the nose smells like a chocolate covered coffee bean and it finishes like a Guinness. The Sierra Nevada Bigfoot will also knock your socks off with it’s 10.4% alcohol. The Sierra Nevada Anniversary Ale is also a fantastic brew. Let me know if you ever come to Chico, Gary… I’ll treat you to lunch!
I love your show and can’t wait to see Friday’s episode… you seem to slur a few more words each day as the week goes on! Great to see you having so much fun despite the Jets big loss.
I will send that e-mail to Womens Health Mag to hopefully get your wine articles published there as well.
    Thanks for the great shows!

Very cool episode guys! The nice thing about beer, is that you can make it yourself, and it holds very true that any beer you make yourself will almost always be way better than the mass produced crap you buy. I like craft beer, but even more importantly, I like making my OWN craft beer.

  • Um KegGremlin
This is called WINE Library TV….Go get yourself a beer show. Most people do not come here to see Sierra Nevada reviewed…what a waste of bandwidth!

  • You might add that beer is pretty simple to brew yourself and get a reasonably good result. It’s usually a fresh product and does require all that aging.

Great episode. This was a nice change of pace. Very good descriptions of the
Sierra Nevada and Aecht Schlenkerla Rauchbier Marzen (I have never had the other
two beers). Gary, I agree with some of the earlier posters…you should try
    Sierra Nevada Bigfoot sometime.
And sorry about your Jets Gary.

Great show! We love seeing the beer episode.

Ben says the beer geek is AWESOME!

No QOTD? I’ll make up my own: “What is your favorite craft beer?”

I LOVE Belgian ales, particularly Vichtenaar (a.k.a. God’s Beer). Also nutty browns, particularly the Chimay brown.

Congrats on breaking that barrier G-Man, #$%k the nay sayers. The Craft beer world is huge, with so many quality brews being made all around the world. Biggups on the ROGUE- those guys make great stuff, as well as Weyerbacher. I hope we can anticipate more of these in the future, and that Brandon M. can shut his whining pie hole. Cheers to beers!

PS: if you get a chance try a show with Dogfish Head, they make great IPA’s and historic recipes brews.

    GV,
As the week progresses, your depression deepens! I am so sorry for your Jets. But hey, the Panthers suck too!

Great episode. I love a good craft beer. The more intense, the better. I’m sure I would love the last one. Too bad you are not selling it, I would buy a case!!!

Speaking of different spirits, you should get Brett Pontoni from Binny’s in Chicago for a single malt scotch episode. The guy is the Gary Vay-ner-chuk of the scotch world.

Great Show! I love beers especially Barley Wine. However, I just want to mention that I’m a CKC and I found that exact german marzen very drinkable. I really hope you do more beer shows. Infact, I would love to hear Gary’s opinion on “Sierra Nevada Bigfoot Barley Wine,” “Great Divide Hercules Double IPA” and Belgian ales like “Chimay.”

awesome episode! what can i say gary except that you are constantly doing different things to keep wltv interesting. imho, off-wine topics always freshen and liven up the thunder show. it took 300+ to finally get to beer but i hope there will be another sooner than that. kudos to everyone involved in producing wltv and keep up the great job!

I never got into pumpkin beer, but I do like an occasional cranberry beer in the Fall.

Interesting and different episode today, I don’t drink alot of beer but on occasion the mood strikes me and I will have one or six.

  • lenny

The one time I tried Pumpkin beer, I didn’t finish it. I just threw it away. Yuck!

The Cranberry one Alison talks about sounds like it has promise though.

Mostly like light beers, so I guess I am not considered a real beer person.

How’s about an episode on Scotches. Now that’s a drink!!

No! Freakin’! Way! Just this morning I said to my brother, “Wouldn’t it be sweet if Gary did a craft brew tasting.” And whatdayaknow. Thank you Gary and that other dude! I love good ale as much as I love good wine. I love tea, coffee, and scotch too, so what does that tell you.

My favorite beers: Stone Ruination, Deschutes Obsidian Stout, and Rogue Brutal Bitter.
