Gary, I think you have one of the most amazing palates I know about, and an equally great ability to articulate your impressions. This is why I watch your videos. Frankly, I am not interested, nor have the time, to indulge you in your football and hobby preferences or your video ratings, other than to keep you on the “air.” I admire your diversity in the wines you cover, but am personally not interested in all of them. Please understand if I “skip” the episodes on wines in which I have no interest.

Have a great trip, and I look forward to your return.

The show is like nothing else available for consumption…anywhere! You have set the standard. The standard for what, I’m not so sure of, but I am sure you are pioneering something very entertaining and educational.

i love this show. In fact, i love it even though i don’t drink wine (though i do drink jack). I just love seeing your enthusiasm for tasting wine. You’re so entertaining that whether you love a wine or hate it, we’re in for a treat every time. Keep it up man.

    Now, back to lurking. =)

Absolutely addicted to the show…it’s a part of my research for an independent study. I never thought my outside interests could be linked to class.

PS- Loved the segment on Nightline! Way to go! Cause I was wondering who that other camera man was last week!

What I like about the show is that it completely takes the snootiness out of wine tasting. What it comes down to is how the wine tastes to YOU. Was at a wine shop in DC and the guy behind the counter swore by a certain Pinot – It tasted exactly like a mildewed dish rag to me, and I like Pinot noir.
Anyway, keep it up Gary. The Jets Spitoon is classy as hell.

  • Gary ~ honestly what I like about the show is that you combine a sophisticated palate with a down to earth opinion about the wines you are trying each day. I’m not a big football fan, but I watch every episode because I know I can learn something new. I’ve been in the wine biz for a fairly long time (15 yrs) and it’s nice to see someone with such enthusiasm and it’s the whole reason I’m totally stoked for the Vayniac Cab. Keep bringing the Thunder !!

QOTD: Love it! Keeps me involved and thinking about the wine world 5 days a week. The wine world is constantly changing and evolving, and I like having the feeling that I can be involved, informed and maybe even influencial in what’s up with wine! I know you can never really know EVERYTHING there is to know about wine, but WLTV is a great help toward learning as much as I can!

Thanks Gary! Hope you had a great trip!

QOTD: This show is a regular part of my daily routine. It is informative, entertaining and keeps me wanting for more! The reviews of the many varieties of wine that are available has greatly increased my knowledge and tastes.

It makes my day when I watch new episodes. Most fun I have online. To Dave Roberts, there is a whole episode in the archives where Gary does a tour of wine library.

Gary, This show is so informative that I feel like a wine snob at times for the amt. of info that i’ve learned and try to explain this to others. It is terrific. Thanks so much for your time and effort.

Sorry Gary for another one but your Nightline appearance was the best of the TV shows because you were your wacky self and in comfortable surroundings. It was great!

QOTD GV, you’re egging me into trying new things, last time I ventured out, was German whites, now I’m all over South America trying cabs, merlot, some grape called carme-nara?

Thanks Gary for making de-mystifying vino.

GV’s show is for me a point of departure. It’s not only about the wines he tastes but about wine in general. The show provides both inspiration and education. Driving the Pulaski Skyway isnâ??t just about cruising one dreamy patch of US highway. Sometimes you get to Newark, or to Jersey City, or on a whim, a minimum security womenâ??s prison, or, best of all, you end up at the intimate and beguiling Fish House Road. GV helps us find our own little Fish House Road after being stuck at a 1/9 truck route drawbridge for too long.

QOTD: I love the show – I learn a ton from you and look forward to the show every day.

I hear you about Clemens, especially after the Giants game – does anyone like number 10? If not, why is he still the freakin’ quarterback?

    Hi GV,
QOTD: Love the show! Watch it daily, it’s become part of my day. I’m learning more about wine, trying different types of wines, and tasting for my writing and my own personal cooking.
Your show is a mix of education, fun and entertainment. I appreciate you taking the time to let us share your knowledge about wines and grapes and everything else.
    Keep bringing the thunder!!

Since watching the show I have been drinking a lot of different wines many bought from WL. Your taste varies a bit from mime that you seem to enjoy strong “Sour Cherry” notes, whereas I prefer smooth, full bodied reds with more subtle “Sour” notes that come from wines generally stored for a few years.
You have been a good teacher giving us info on a lot of wine/grape varieties and your show is enjoyable. Keep up the good work. You are also starting to become a celebrity of sorts – Conan, Ellen,Nightline. What’s next? Anyway wished I lived a bit closer to enjoy your Tasting Event this week.
