QOTD: I think that this show is one of the greatest contributors to my wine education and wine self-esteem (i.e. trusting my palate, or palette, if you wanna be all artsy fartsy about it ;-)). My desire to learn more about diverse wines from all over the world is completely fed by your dedication and enthusiasm. Watching the Thunder Show every evening helps my inner wine dork grow by leaps and bounds, and I thank you from the bottom of my heart for it, Gary. Cheers!

What a stoke of luck I found your show. I’ve learned a lot from you about wine without having to embaress myself in front of a bunch of wine snobs. You have real passion, which I admire. Keep it up brother!

QOTD: I love this show! My husband and I just discovered it a few weeks ago and we love watching it together – both of us love Gary’s style AND my husband loves the football references. Thanks and keep up the great work

  • Love the show. I’ve just started with wine, and I don’t get in to the rest of the wine community so much. I think you have a great range of shows, from super cheap to really high quality, and from all different regions. Beer show was cool.

You have a lot of episodes, so I guess my only comment would be if you start getting burned out on the whole thing, make less episodes, but keep doing it.

Gary, I second what Scott says. I watch several shows at a time as video podcasts, and I always enjoy them. Because I’m on the iPod and am sometimes several days behind, it isn’t possible for me to answer your question of the day. However, you’re always enthusiastic and surprising, and I hope you’ll keep WLTV going as long as you can.

Very impressive stacks of imprinted boxes!

Gary – When are you actually home? You put the JETS in jetsetter!

QOTD: I came across this show early this spring and have been very appreciative of your efforts ever since. I think wine has suffered a snooty, ennui-laden reputuation for years, and it’s time that it was given an approachable, new image (never mind the Sir Vaynerchuk personna – where has he been, by the way?!)…

I like this ep for its sincerity, but also because we get to see a little more of your store. Give us the full tour sometime, top to bottom.

What do I think of this show? I have a 5-day-old baby girld upstairs and I HAD to get my Thunder Show fix! Nuff said Gary! Keep us in the know!
    Peace owt,

QOTD – love the combo of real ‘know-my-sh*t-cause-I-live-it-everyday’ mentality and down-to-earth approach. And, of course, gotta love a fellow sports fan. Since the Raiders have a bye week, I’ll even try and root for your Jets (although probably not since they’re both AFC teams…you know the deal). Cheers.

  • Di_k! Panning across cases of Petrus, other goodies from Pomerol, plus DRC, La Tache. 🙂 Making us jealous, and loving every minute of it. Because you, and a lot of my pending WineLibrary futures deliveries, are changing the wine world, and I like it a lot.

  • Hey Gary

QOTD: Well of course there are lots of things I like about the Show, there’s no need to mention the host (he probably doesn’t need any more praise).
    – The frequency is fantastic, pumping out over an hour of footage every week is a huge effort.
    – The range of wines discussed is amazing; from cheapish bargains to the all the big names, spanning every corner of the globe.
    – Open attitude; often on a show you are surprised, you talk a wine up or down and are more than happy to change your opinion after trying it!
    – Emphasis on trying new things (one of the great things for all you people in the States, you can drink wine from anywhere you want … in Australia it’s just Australian plus a little NZ wine and Champagne; in France they mainly drink French wine etc)
    – No emphasis on selling; you do work in the retail business, yet there is no pressure on viewers to buy from you
    – Open, friendly and enthusiastic presenter; OK I mentioned the host, but hey good job!

    Cheers Andrew

QOTD: This show is a great outlet for me to relax and enjoy wine like it was meant to be experienced..with laughter and zero attitude. You certainly can’t go on making WLTV 5 days a week forever…but while you continue to sacrafice your personal life for us…I for one certainly look forward to all the eppisodes. Even if I can’t spell to save my life.

QOTD – Gary what little I know about wine I have learned since I happened accross your site last spring. I have been having a blast learning about wine and trying new wines that I heard about on the show.Last week I was out to dinner with my wife and two of her friends. As the only male there I had to order the wine. The wine list had a Argentina Melbac on it {humm Gary said} Melbac’s are hot. I better try that. The ladies only liked white wines before but said it was wonderful. They then asked me how I learned so much about wine. I said I have this friend named Gary…

QOTD: Palate changing!!! Really. I am now able to notice much more when I am smelling and tasting wines. And not just big league chew and broccoli and cherry pie and a roadkill!! Although the other day I got the exact smell of the blueberry compote that I served at a Perkin’s restaurant when I was in college while tasting a Malbec. I would *not* have been able to nail that smell without having my palate “Opened” by WLTV!!!!! LOVE IT!!! Can’t wait for the Vaniac Cab! And the new, Gary Vayner-“Wine Geek”

Please educate us. But don’t leave the “sniffy-sniff” behind. I miss it. And so does my wife!!!

    Gary,
I am so, so, sorry. I left a comment yesterday trying to be complimentary to Chad Pennington. Don’t guess I know what I’m talking about. Bring in the rookie.

Gary, I think you have one of the most amazing palates I know about, and an equally great ability to articulate your impressions. This is why I watch your videos. Frankly, I am not interested, nor have the time, to indulge you in your football and hobby preferences or your video ratings, other than to keep you on the “air.” I admire your diversity in the wines you cover, but am personally not interested in all of them. Please understand if I “skip” the episodes on wines in which I have no interest.

Have a great trip, and I look forward to your return.
