Good show, too bad they were trash.

QOTD: 2nd fav Pres? It would have to be TJ (Thos Jefferson) who loved wine, especially Bordeaux and Madeira.

    Cheers!

P.S. Love the canaries. I’ve had quite a few.

So many lackluster Gavi’s, i completely agree. But man when you have a good one, actually instead of doing Gavi2 what about a Vernaccia show? That was my first white crush, Vernaccia di San Gemignano.

QOTD: Ben Franklin for so many reasons.

QOTD #1 Lincoln #2 Washington then everyone else. Carter and Clinton are in the bottom 10 with GW II. Geez, read some history!

Gavi is good stuff. Too bad you came out with crap.

Gary, I’ve gotta ask, what’s up with the birds chirping outside your window? Sometimes when I am listening to an episode I think I am hearing things. I had no idea that Jersey was so full of happy birdies trying to get some birdie action before old man winter shows up!

  • Bummer about the boringness. I liked Gavi the one time I had it at an Italian place, but I have no idea who/what/where/vintage/blah blah blah. I just thought it was fresh and kind of yummy.

    QOTD: Michael Douglas (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0112346/).

What a shame you pazzzzzzed on these Gavis, but better you than me!!! Always learning thanks – for the lesson once again….will look for the better of the Gavis!

QOTD:OK I love Ben but he was never pres!!! Although he should have been…TJ was awesome brought great culture/wine to the Americas and TR was an environment lover – I know I can answer who my least favorite is-the Texan Crook….but I have to say Jimmy Carter sure has done wonderful things! Funny Al Gore didn’t win the presidency (farce) but he won the Noble Peace Prize. Seems like they all succeeded outside the realm of presidency….I would have to say David Palmer was my favorite though!!

    great ep GV!!

  • If the Gavi’s are so bad at over $10.00 a bottle, why would we pay more for something only average?

Great Episode(s) I am away on business and bored to death in the hotel, just watched a marathon collection of the last weeks’ episodes.

Suprised that Stripe (the Gremlin) didn’t chime in on today’s episode: “Gavi Ca-Ca”.

Good to see Smurfette and Papa Smurf up in the hizzie as well (that is freaky relationship).

2nd Favorite President? I’ll have to go with Teddy Roosevelt.

BTW, Had an AWESOME time at Oct 8th’s Super-Tasting!!!

2nd favorite? Emo Phillips, second only to Tim Curry
(Emo Phillips giving any public speech would be a riot, but who’d be his running mate?)

  • I really don’t understand, how people can enjoy Gavi. It’s bringing (nearly) nothing to the table for a lot of money. You have to pay about 20-30 bones to see, what Cortese can do. Scary.

I’ll wait for some good Gavi review before rushing out to buy some ‘boring’.

Gary, I’d never heard of Gavi before today. If I see one I’m buying it just to try something new. QOTD: Taft. Why even ask a question that there is a definitive answer to?

Hi Gary Just wanted to add my two cents regarding the 2005 Chateau La Fleur Des Pins. To add to your tasing notes I am getting orange marmalade as the dominate flavor provile. Yoe mentioned fresh pineapple but for me it’s more like fermented pineapple. Thats all great show and thanks for recomending this great dessert wine.
