Stokin’ the string bean tonight, Gavi…it’s better than garbage. I’ve never tasted Gavi, but I’ve had house wine in Italy, and it’s more like house vinager. I was getting a little worried at the beggining when you were talking about lemon and color in that pale looking sickly wine. Then, like a Phoenix, you rose from the ashes and proved true to self. Thanks for saving me the disappointment of going to the store looking for some Gavi.

QOTD: Holy crap, that’s a really tough question. I’ll assume you mean U.S. Presidents, to narrow the field, but it’s still tough. So many are tied for second and third. …Hell, I’ll go w/ John Quincy Adams. He’s commonly considered to be a failed president. But, he wrote the Monroe doctrine, and he might have easily been our greatest president if not for the political troubles of the day and his idiotic cabinet appointments. He had an incredible vision that could have set us on course for fulfilling the promise of democracy. Yessir, I’ll take free college for the masses! Oh well.

David Duchovny is a mook who goes around fucking a bunch of midriffs in order to create some POP! ( http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/pages/frontline/shows/cool/view/ ). Check out the link for an explanation of the mook, midriff, and POP reference, it’s a great educational video. The Presuaders is another good frontline episode Dr. Horowitz would recommend.

But, even though Weeds, The Sopranos, Gossip Girl, Californication, and all the other shows are disigned by experts who know how to entertain us, I guess the shows are still fun to relax and to revel in.

Gavi’s are pleasent when you come across a higher grade, or one coming from a smaller more boutique producer. It’s like Pinot Griggio….you know…Santa Margarita hits the scene with their Pinot Grigio and gets the world hooked, then every other harry and tom is coming out with one too and it becomes common place and BORING~~ Sometimes…I hate to say this, but more so than not, you usually get what you pay for. Obviously there are exceptions to that rule, but generally speaking that has proven true on several accounts.

Good to learn about Gavi, even if all three struckout looking

I run the wine shop at a Trader Joe’s out in Los Angeles, and we don’t carry any Gavi – now I can see why. But I work with, and talk about, wine all day long. One would think that the last thing I would want to do at the end of my day would be to sit down in front of my macbook and watch some other guy talk about wine for about twenty minutes. But, guess what? That is exactly what I do. I really love the show, Gary. You have truly broadened my knowledge of the wine world to include lots of things not available at Trader Joe’s (Cote Rotie, Gavi, etc). I know a lot about wine, I am not going to lie. But it’s been great learning even more. Thanks again.

QOTD: CLINTON, I know I know BUT he made this country stand up and TAKE NOTE on things we never thought of. I have lived through several President’s and he had to be the one I always turned and listened to the news on. Unlike my love for JFK which sits silently deep in my heart and soul, Clinton made be stand up and take note of what was really right and or wrong in life. Lets face it, right or wrong, Clinton did make this country wake the heck up and start facing the unknown.
