The coolest thing I’ve seen on the net in the last 24 hrs is Winepress.us/forums
for any budding wine makers a wonderful resorce

QOTD: aside from the big-ass glass, I would have to say one of my other favorite new blog/audio sites about running, http://www.steverunner.com.

Alright show today Gary. However, I must wonder is it still really all about the wine, or are the tangents starting to win out? Don’t you have two minutes somewhere else to explore the tangents?

QOTD: won’t provide links to the R-Rated content, but do a video.google.com search on:
1) “Buttrocket” — if you’re ever having a bad day, this is a guaranteed chuckle (mild male nudity)
2) “Cuntry Boner” — MJK’s (Tool, APC) tertiarty side project (Puscifer) goes country (profane language)

Nice episode. Lodi dose some intersting things with Iberian varieties. Even central coast producres like Baretto Cellars in Paso Robles source these grapes from Lodi. These wines are considerably different from their orld world counter parts – more honeyed and definitely softer and with lower acids. Still intersting and worth trying.
As for the QOTD: I can’t help but engage in some self-promotion and say that the coolest thing I have seen on the web is the willingness of winemakers to explore alterantives in winemaking by participating in a project I stated called project23 (www.23degreeswine.com)
crank
The problem with Albarino you reviewed is apparently the bottle only has one glass worth of wine in it. That just won’t do.

Woot is by far the best of the periodic wine sites. Winemaker participation, a great community, and fantastic wines. I’ve found winespies’ selection to be a bit lacking.

Solid episode, Gary. Gotta try the Albarino.
QOTD: NBC.com’s FULL EPISODES!!! You can go on to their website and watch full, yes, FULL, episodes of your favorite shows like The Office, Scrubs, Chuck, 30 Rock, whatever. Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful.

Loved your episode today, Gary V.!! The main reason I love it is because you are helpful and don’t mind promoting other people’s sites, etc.. Way to create good karma for yourself, my friend!! :o)
Speaking of good karma, for the QOTD:
My friend Salim Nourallah is an amazingly talented musician. (He also likes wine, btw!)
Do you like the Beatles? Crowded House? Wilco? Then, perhaps you might like Salim!

Its a animated video blog about video games. there are about a dozen episodes, each about 4 minutes long.
Also, I was given a bottle of wine from the wine cellar at work (the label was ruined) for my birthday from my boss. I have been decanting it for a couple hours and will enjoy at dinner tonight.

I tried one Albarino, and liked it. It reminded me of a NZ Sauvignon Blanc, with a little appley and grassyness, but a much milder, lemony finish. (But I tasted it at my Dad’s house, on day 2 after opening, so I really don’t believe I have much Albarino experience yet.)
By the way, if you want people to go to TheWineSpies.com instead of winespies.com (domainer page), might want to change the Episode #346 title from “winespies” to “thewinespies”. Just a suggestion. I’ll check out thewinespies.
Thanks for going more ‘open source’ with your recs this week. Introduces an interesting new dynamic, and definitely helps quiet the people who keep whining about bias.

Sweet episode today, only 9 minutes 47 seconds and we got everything plus a bonus Chris Mott cameo appearence.
QOTD The cat video in the WLTV Anything Goes Forums, it cracks me up every time I watch it.
