  • Love the zin on turkey day!
QOTD – No fave. Knot style is determined by collar type. Wide (English)spead calls for a Windsor. Narrower point or tab collars are typicaly better suited to a four-in-hand knot.

I disagree with Red Zins And Thanksgiving especially the Trimmings. I don’t have to look to far on MY Thanksgiving table to find Jam Flavors and Sugar…with Sweet Potatoes and Marshmellows, Candied Yams, Cranberry Sauce, Pumpkin Pie… My Choice is a DRY CRISP ROSE to utilize as a Palate Cleanser almost like A Sorbet is an Intermezzo at Fine Dining Restaurants. My Choice is Turkey Flat Vineyards Austrailian Rose from Barossa Valley…Robert Parker gives the 2007 90 Points. This way you can Drink “Turkey” and Eat “Turkey” for Thanksgiving but the Granny Smith Apple And Dry Crisp Finish of this Wine Washes Away the Potpourri of Sugary Trimmings we have at the Thanksgiving Table. Save The Zins for your Next Barbecue!!

QOTD: Unfortunatley I have to wear one every day, at least for part of the day, and currently I tend to go for the windsor. Prior I was all about the 4-n-Hand, but I think the windsor gives a better knot.

Always love zins with T’giving. Zins are my favorite grape. Not surprising, I see the Frank Family zin is sold out! I did order the T’giving surprise pak and look forward to this.

QOTD: I use the oriental (which has the back-seam of the tie facing outward during dying) because I don’t tend to wear my ties choking-height or belt-length. Seeing the working-bits of the piece really helps detoxify the tie, and makes the loose, long look seem less affected.

what about referencing “Mr. Heat Miser” when a wine is showing too much of it’s alchohol content in it’s flavor profile? Remember him? He was in one of those x-mas specials like rudolph the red nosed reindeer or something. “i’m Mr heat miser..he’s mr snow…..I’m mr heat miser, he’s mr. 100 below” I can’t beleive I remember those leirics…….

How about including Frank Family Zin in the “secret” 4-pack.

  • GregStefos

Gary, I always have used, since I was in grade school, a Double Windsor, taught to me by by Dad, who used it in the Marine Corps.

    Great show today.

GV-Also the sparklers from Frank Family are to be sought out. When I had them last year (Blanc de Blanc, Rose, and Reserve) they were “winery only” but they were stellar.
