I’m with you on the Noveau. You’ve gotten me to try many, but the latest was a Grego Tempranillo I got at Cost Plus for 10 bucks, loved it.

    happy belated b-day!
QOTD:well i don’t believe you did this wine on WLTV but i would have never tried the Rhone Rebel 2005 Cotes du Rhone GSM if i had never watched your show…if it were not for you i would have never known about this fabulous wine store that is only 1 short hour from my house in nj and i would have never spoken to the kindest gentleman at wine library (and i’m sorry i don’t know his name) who took this $5.99 wine off the shelf and put it into my cart without my consent, promising that i would like it. well i did and heck, it’s cheap as hell too, which i love.

QOTD: A couple come to mind…Black Pig Albariño and Cote du Rhones, in general.

Thanks for the free shipping Gary. Picked me up a couple of bottles of the 2005 Coume Del Mas Schistes.

QOTD: That’s easy! The last six bottles I ordered from WL, which were also the first six I ordered, thanks to the fact that AZ was finally opened up to shipments and GV handed out a free shipping offer a couple of weeks back. I’m drinking the Nec-Otium Pinot Grigio right now, thanks to your glowing recommendation and I agree – an outstanding QPV.
Guess what I’ll be doing tomorrow. (Hint: it has to do with the next six bottles!)

I was just at Trader Joe’s and saw an entire endcap full of the Beaujolais Nouveau. Gave it a pazzzz. You make me glad that I did.

QOTD: 2003 Ballast Stone Petit Verdot

For $10 (on free.winelibrary.com) that stuff was awesome. I just picked up some Ken Rasmussen PV from Wine.Woot! and I’m pumped about trying that. I’m slowly trying more French wines too, very excited to see a Bordeaux in the pack.

Thank you for the free shipping! I’m really trying to not buy any more wine this month but that Coume del Mas Schistes sounds right up my alley. Out of my normal price range but I’m going to go for it anyway.

Penney sent you a pumpkin cheesecake, I hope you’re in town tomorrow!

Gary, re QOTD… I would never have tried the 2005 d’Arenberg ‘The Hermit Crab’ Marsanne Viognier. I absolutely loved it… and ended up really enjoying many many of the d’Arenberg wines… so thanks.

You know, I’ve never had beaujolais nouveau before tonight and frankly, it tastes like dirty wet socks after a rainstorm. It’s even doing to my tongue what the wet socks do to my feet.

Oh well, I knew I probably wasn’t going to like it, and at least I know how wine can smell like socks now. 🙂

QOTD- Ercavio. Would not have tried Tempranillo unless you turned me on to it.

Free shipping offers do not work as a bribe for me because I live around the corner from WL. I am still waiting for my keys to the store.

Since watching your show I have started trying wines from many more regions.
One of the wines which I tried because of the Wine Library TV is the Mabileau Bourgeuil St. Nicolas.
Love the wine. I enjoyed bothe the 2005 and the 2004.

I also started trying other Loire wines which I am not sure you reviewed. A great one I recently tried was the Jasnieres. Great quality for the price.

    Thanks Gary

Let go of the un-impressed traditions, 100% agreed! I tried Beaujolais one year and didn’t understand what all the fuss was about. Now I know how much value I can get with just 10 bones, I would not waste it on other Beaujolais like wines.. Thanks Gary and the WLTV.—I watch and I learn.. :-).

Nice ep. A wine that was totally off my radar before your show was the Boudreaux Cabernet from Rob Newsom. I have 5 bottles of the ’04 Cab in the cellar and loved the one we took out to dinner (review in the forums, corked and CT).

Good show Gary. The St. Julian comes from my neck of the woods – the winery is just down the road from where I grew up! Thanks for showing some love to Michigan! QOTD: without WLTV, I never would have tried the Berco Do Infante Estremadura Reserva, and I never would have realized what a love affair with wine looks like! Keep it real.
