QOTD: Actually, we’re having a bunch of Gary Farrell wines my folks picked up when they visited the winery a few weeks ago; Allan Scott 2006 Pinot Noir; and with dessert the 2001 Chateau Nairac Barsac. Oh, and a half bottle of 2003 Suiduraut in case we finish off the Barsac.

…and hopefully someone’s making martinis before dinner!

Went to the W.L. last Friday and picked up two bottles of the Selvappiana Chianti Ruffino, and a Pian Cornello Rosso Di Montalcino. Who knows what the other members of the fam. will bring!!!

G-Man, for Thanksgiving day and weekend I plan to be sampling the 4 wines included in the mystery 4-pak I received from Wine Libray last week. Have a Happy. Oh, and thanks for the wristband.

Love the Vintage Mortal Combat reference…..I’m rocking a St.J Riesling on your recommendation this Thursday also an off Dry Tabor Hill Cabernet Franc Rose’..What do you think of an off dry Rose’ with Crabby patty’s?(Crab cakes for you non Sponge Bob watchers).

QOTD – What’s Thanksgiving? 🙂

Gary…..great episode once again. Still getting my palate to get into some great red wines. Still yong in my wine days.

Will be drinking: 2004 Wente Vineyards Chardonnay Nth Degree, nice wine with great flavors. You should check it out. Probably finish it off with some Pelee Island Late Autumn Riesling.

Thanks Gary – keep those big QPR wines coming. Ordered a case of Leocadie and Triennes. Happy Thundergiving!

QOTD: drinking whatever’s in the mystery 4 pack. and if i need more, i’ve got a kegerator filled with newcastle at my disposal, along with two bottles of the ’04 and ’05 Two Hands Bella’s Garden Shiraz.

I’m starting off with a Dry Reisling from Wollersheim winery in Prarie du Sac, WI, probably my favorite Reisling. Then a little Red Zin from Bogel and Ravenswood. Finish it all off with a sipper of Wollersheim Port, and I’ll be happy for a long time!

QOTD: The Vayniac Thanksgiving pack wines.

QOTD. Don’t know yet. I’ll have to see what mood I’m in. One strong possibility, though, is a cabernet franc from the Loire.

QOTD: We’re having 3 days of Thanksgiving celebrations. The first one is a pizza Thanksgiving with 2005 Turley California zinfandel, the second is a turkey dinner with Cardwell Hill Reserve pinot noir (we visited them in Oregon), the third is a meatloaf dinner with Prosecco and Robert Sinskey 2002 Proprietary Red.

Good recall on the werther’s original flavor. I mentioned that regarding a port the other night in an email to you, so that jumped out at me as a flavor I’d recognize right away. You semi-panned the wine, but I’m still going to try it. 🙂

We’re watching this a day late but enjoyed it with a Pinot Noir. We will have to look for those French wines that you liked so much.

2) Wild Hog Zin (Sonoma County) – My current favorite Zin – big & jammy
3) Rex Hill Chehalem Mtns Cuvee Pinot Noir (Oregon) – a 3rd bottle if needed
Not sure what my friends are bringing, but I am sure it will be good

QOTD: Opening up a 98 Silver Oak for Thanksgiving – I’ve heard its past its prime, so we may just end up sniffing it all day.

Peachy morninig drink: Bellini (presecco and fresh white peach juice, invented at Harry’s Bar in Venice) a must have, especially with their carpaccio (which they also invented).

QOTD: I am going to try and get a bottle of Frank Family Zin, if unavailable. I am going to open ’02 Macchia Zin I have had for a while, a new world fruit bomb from the Sierra Nevada foothills, sure to please all of the guests. I also got a bottle of Dr. Loosen Spatlasse Riesling, which might get opened depending on the food choices.
