Haven't had any Valpolicella's by those wineries, I do have an '01 La Poja from Allegrini that I hear is supposed to be really good

QOTD: I think having a trip with you to vineyard of your choice. Or maybe a “palate training” session for the winner and a friend (or some family). Something where a lucky vayniac can pick up some knowledge from you in person.
As far as how to pick that winner (was that what you were really asking??), I don’t really have suggestions for that one. Drawing names I guess works out to be the fairest.

Oh Oh Oh I have to post again because I have another idea:

Gary, you offer a bottle of wine at cost (with a coupon code you give on the show), we buy it, and the best video review of it wins?

The prize is one bottle each of your top ten favorites…

    GV,

Here’s to Richard Perry. My wife and I have bought a case of Syrah from the last three vintages since tasting it out in Napa a few years ago. RP had passion for the land, grapes, and wine that really showed in the final product. He will be missed…

QOTD2: Your gonna hate me. The ultimate contest would be accompanying you on the next barrel tasting in Bordeaux. That’s huge.

  • QOTD #1: I think that under Gary’s football there rests a snow globe with a picture of Gary and his family inside.

QOTD #2: Website scavenger huntâ?¦ like garyissorry.com, but with a big ol’ prize at the end. Not trying to break the bank, but how ’bout free run of Wine Library (the store) for five minutes? Whatever the winner can carry out, the winner gets to keepâ?¦ and the rest of us get some great entertainment watching it all happen.

Congrats to today’s winners, and props to Gary, as always, for all the hard work making WLTV happen. You give us so muchâ?¦

good work gary….the zardini sounds excellent and i would have been afraid to try the allegrini at that price point (tho i love their palazzo el torre at the next price level). by the way, in the wine world, we also lost erich salomon (not the importer eric salomon) another austrian winemaker….see terry thiese’s page . i agree with you one hundred percent that these losses are reminders to not take anyone in our lives for granted. all the best to you and yours – onwg ps – sports related stuff. next contest? hmmmmm…..

  • ChadD.

I didn’t win?!! So sad…Hey, I went to a wedding this past weekend and they were serving a Valpolicella, and on the nose, was BARNYARD! Old world all the way-and went great with the food. I forget the label though…the party got a little crazy.
QOTD: the next winner gets to come to WL and pick out a bottle-ANY bottle that you have in stock.

QOTD: My idea comes from the wine pack that you sent out over Thanksgiving, which seemed really popular. You set up another 3 wine pack that people can buy. The contest is that they have to make a video tasting the three wines and send you a link to where its uploaded. Anyone who does it gets entered to come on your show and taste the same three wines with you. Plus after the contest is over you can link up all your favorite ones for all of vaynernation to see. You could set some limits that it has to be between 5-10 or 10-15 minutes and has to involve at least a sniffy-sniff and tasty-taste of each wine.

Awesome show, Gary! I tried my first Valpolicella about 2 weeks ago, and I liked it. I think I am a bit partial to Italian wines anyway, but thanks for giving me a couple more to hunt for.

QOTD: I think that the next contest should be something to do with facebook and your ask Gary V application! I post in there every now and then, so why not? It will get a lot more people to join up. If not FB, then perhaps something to do with a photograph of a Vayniac in a some public place doing something significant wearing the wristband. I think that would be radool….

Q1: GV’s prediction for Heisman trophy is under the football

Q2: Next contest is creating a vlog hotter than JenniferS’s, wine/WLTV related (takes me out of the running, tho’ – but ‘twould be too much for back-to-back Canuck winners anyway)
Prize: First – Jay comes to winner’s house and builds a wine cellar + no trip to Joisey
Second: Shopping cart full of wines from WLTV, selected on a sponsored trip to Joisey, + tix to a Devils game.

Never until today have I wanted to be Canadian.

Qotd #2 – Best WLTV Theme Song (Intro Song)!

QOTD: A wine quiz: 10 questions that you have answered on the show during the past year. Random drawing among the ones with the most correct answers.
What’s under the football? A new t-shirt with some kind of logo you were excited about the other day. I can’t put my finger on it though.
