QOTD: Yo, let’s have it like “The Apprentice” or “Hell’s Kitchen” where 5 contestants run the Wine Library floor for like 2 hours each. Whoever sells the most wine, or the most of a specific “try to sell these wines” wines will win like a cheeseburger. Or a bottle of their choice up to 3,000 dollars or something like that…YEAH! Shoot yeah, the winner will get a Wine Library shopping spree up to 3K and the camera will follow them around and it will be a whole episode of Wine Library TV. That’s hot! I’m sorry if someone already mentioned something like that but my idea is the best best best!

QOTD: I’m not very inventive, but I like the cork idea, a nice little contest for us technophobes who do not know what a widget is 🙂

I’m asking my boyfriend for Earthworks Cabernet Sauvignon for Christmas. I liked the other wine that you likened to big league chew so I thought I’d give this a shot 🙂

next contest… pick out a few wines and put together something like the thanksgiving package (i.e. make it available @ WL), allow a certain amount of time, and have people taste and score the wines and send in their tasting notes first, then do an episode where you taste the wines yourself and draw from someone who sent in their comments

you said when you do episodes on styles of wines you like they tend to be disappointing… how about a pv episode, see if you can break the cycle

Compose a song dedicated to WLTV for the next contest.

QOTD: Anyone who gets 10 new viewers to watch WLTV and leave a comment with a shout out to who sent them gets their name in the lunch box. Winner gets a case of wine from WLTV not to exceed $2000!!!!!!

The next contest should be a photo contest. The picture has to have a wine theme. You could narrow down the pics and then have a vote off by us.

OK, so now we’re all WLTV “badged up.” But, Gary wants more. More! More! So I’d like to answer his QOTD, “on the QT” :-)……
The next WLTV contest should require all of us to send Gary a picture with ourselves in it, and it should be required that we all include some sort of WLTV theme/tie-in in our pictures. BUT– each photo should be required to contain at LEAST one family member, or friend, in it. And these folks should also be ID’d in the e-mail that accompanies each picture. We all know that we all doshare Gary and WLTV with our family members and close friends already (I know that I’m always bragging about how much Gary has wine educated me to my friends n’ family :-), so why not? Gary’s job would be to combine all of our pics into a poster, or something, and create a compositesnapshot of just how big the “WLTV Family” really is….people could then buy mugs, a t-shirt, whatever, based on this group photo, in which all of us participants/WLTV family members are present (although we’d all be microscopically sized)!

actually, i came up wiht a better contest. have some wltv stickers made up and then have a contest of who can send in a picture of the sticker stuck to the best place.

QOTD: I think having a trip with you to vineyard of your choice. Or maybe a “palate training” session for the winner and a friend (or some family). Something where a lucky vayniac can pick up some knowledge from you in person.
As far as how to pick that winner (was that what you were really asking??), I don’t really have suggestions for that one. Drawing names I guess works out to be the fairest.
