    Very cool EP and Eric seemed like a great guy. I will definately look for the book!!

    Suggestion – you need to watch where you place the bottles when you have a guest. Most of the time Eric was peaking out from behind them…

    We have liked NZ wines for a while now and love a NZ Sauv Blanc when floating in our boat. One most have a screw cap and they are very refreshing when it is hot. You are correct that some have gone over the top in the grapefruit characteristic, but still many good ones at good QPR. We usually choose an Alsacian Sauv Blanc or Sancerre for serious food pairings. (Hoppers have come a long way with the guidance/wisdom of our Sensei!!…:)

    QOTD – bake this inside a pie – take pineapple salsa, mix it with a bit of sour cream, and then bake it in the pie on top of some grilled chicken, peppers, tomatoes, a little onion, and some 3 cheese mexican blend. That’s what you want inside a pie.

  • Now when I think of New Zealand Meat Pies I think of Flight of the Concords. Almost anything baked in a meat pie is great. I like Shepherd Pies that are meat pies also. but you need a New Zealand Pinot Noir for those.
