  • Smokeyust – ease up on Viddler. We get it, you know how to use the widget.

Eric, great appearance! I’m looking forward to reading your book. Your adventure sounds like “Into The Wild”, but for wine. (Into The Wine?) You have the exact same goatee as Tom Klein, the guy who married my ex-girlfriend out from under me in 1993. Best favor anyone ever did for me – seriously. 🙂

QOTD: What would I like to see baked into a pie? Either rhubarb or olallieberry. Gary, ever had olallieberry?

QOTD: Just like some summers when I was a little kid…blackberries picked from my Auntie Thora’s yard on Vancouver Island (now the locale of some up and coming wineries) and then she would bake them into the most awesome pie.

  • Good show Gary, a nice dynamic there with Eric, although I don’t think he was too impressed when you overfilled his glass!

QOTD – I loved the sound of that Curry filling, so I’d put a Thai twist to that and go for a Thai Green Curry & chicken pie – a bit of cocount, a bit of chili, a hint of Lemongrass and Lime………

Good to see some more young blood in the wine biz. EA……man you got a set on you to just pack up and go. That would be awesome. Can’t wait til next week Gary, let’s see what you got.

QOTD: I am not familiar with meat pies, but at this little place we go they make a homemade duck sausage that is wrapped in pastry dough and served with a maple dijon sauce. It is fantastic, and it is only meant to be an apetizer…….if they served larger portions it would be a great meal.

I bet you could make it like a Reuben sandwich with the Kraut and Corned Beef, with a side of 1000 island dressing to dip it in, that would rock….maybe I can get my wife to make that for lunch and give it a shot.

  • Hey, cool, now Gary has an opportunity to wear my last name on his t-shirt! (and no, fellow Vayniacs, I am no relation to Rowdy Roddy…)
QOTD: What I really look forward to seeing baked into a meat pie is Alan Rickman, in the upcoming movie “Sweeney Todd”! But, as that is mere cinema fantasy, I would have to say bacon, gorgonzola, onion and tomato.

  • QOD: If it hasn’t already been said: I want Gary’s enormous ego baked into a pie! OK, either that or a pound of the best crisp green apples that have ever grown on a tree.

Eric, cool to see you on WLTV, hope the book is selling like a New York Times Bestseller!

I’m a huge fan of the Allan Scott Sauv Blanc. The past 2 vintages have been spectacular.
