You can’t have a serious Merlot Thunder Show without a Washington representative.

I’ve probably been drinking more Merlot over the last year than any other single varietal. Love those Columbia Valley (Washington) merlots. Speaking of which, you gotta try the 2005 Hogue Merlot from Columbia Valley. EXCELLENT QPR.

QOTD: Tonight begins my Christmas vacation. Last day at work for 17 whole days. Yeah!!! Gonna make some linguini with ragu from Mario Batali’s book, and open some wine, and have a nice dinner with my girlfriend.

I’ve never sensed tomato in a wine, but I have a few bottles of Clarendon Hill things and I’ll look out for it.

And that is why I don’t drink much Merlot $36 to $45 Bones you can buy some really good wine.The last Merlot I liked was a Rutherford Hill 2002 for under $20 was very good but as you know $20 will buy some really nice wine if you know where to look.

GV… Never a sheep, always a wolf. Fell in love with wine thanks to a Merlot I had a friend’s house (don’t recall the label). Sideways as a movie was fun, but not helpful to the industry with it’s unnecessary poo-poo’ing of the Merlot varietal. I’ll drink @#$%ing Merlot anyday!;)

I like Merlot, but today’s episode is sort of a let down after yesterday’s show that also had Merlot. O well, you can’t always have the greatest show of the season.

Have always loved Merlot but have to admit we do not drink them all that often unless is major component of a Bourdeaux . We have some Keenan and Lambert Bridge Merlots and will pay more attention to them after the JD EP yesterday, I am going to start diving into Merlot a lot more! There seems to be lots to learn in Merlot. It’s seems deep and complex…rather alluring after listening to JD yesterday. GV and JD may have changed my wine world……….again!..:)

QOTD – I will probably get some heat about this but I am going to do the most un-wine thing possible….I am going bowling! I bowl on a Thursday night men leaque and we drink beer! My coherts all MGD, Bud Light drinkers but I stick to Becks as only thing they offer that I consider has some taste!
