QOTD: Sipping a cheesy Schramsberg Blanc de Noir (meh), finishing the home pages of the new domains I bought our teenage boys as a cheap Christmas gift, and still trying to figure out how to link the xBox 360 to the laptop to make use of its wireless connection to the router upstairs so I can get them on Live tomorrow and out of my hair! (Tomorrow night: caroling at the old folks’ home with the Germania Maennerchor)

Funnily enough, I am starting to enjoy Merlot’s now (late 30’s) more that what I did when I was younger.

Link it up T-shirt. Excellent Idea! Missed a great value merlot from Washington. It’s the Gordon Brothers 2005 Merlot, which rolls in at about 20 bones. WS gives it a 91 and I must say that I agree. Winelibrary sold it for a while but seems to be gone.

Gary, this show is another example of why I appreciate what you do. You have no fear of the outcome of your tastings. After talking up Merlots enthusiastically, you could only endorse one of the three wines, and that was a qualified endorsement. Nevertheless, this actually enhances your crediblity because it all comes down to letting us know what you actually taste. Thanks.

Merlot? it is not a question of being sheep; it is a question of QPR. So many vegetal and poorly made Cali merlots are out there and they are not worth the money. Lots of folks drink merlot; he just happens to be blended with Cabernet Sauvignon or Cabernet Franc and other varietals.
Personally, I don’t want my wine to taste like V8. I can buy V8 for much less and don’t have to worry about having it shipped.
