Gary, you have to come to North Carolina! You can see the grounds where Jets stud Jerricho Cotchery set records for the Wolfpack, taste pork the way it was meant to be prepared (Eastern NC style BBQ), see a hockey team that is much better than the Devils, and visit what has been voted as the #1 place for singles and young adults (the Triangle area). Besides, every from New jersey ends up living in North Carolina anyways.

QOTD: Dog Ridge “WV” Chardonnay is our go-to white. Wynn’s “Black Label” Cab and Ruffino “Il Leo” for our reds.

Great show, I saw the Rex Goliath the other day and passed on it, looks like my wine intuition was working.
QOTD- Lately the everyday wine has been the Ercavio Tempranillo, everybody who I have given a bottle to has loved it and are suprised it is only 8 bones

QOTD – Thanks to the Thunder Show…everyday = Mas des Chimeres Languedoc…as expected very similar to grenache blends from Spain…rustic yet fruity, food compatible…for an old world newbie like myself, it’s a great bridge between new world fruit bombs and old world country side wholesomeness on the farm. WONDERFUL…Thanks GARY!!!

QOTD: Falseco Vitano Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Sangiovese. I know that ratings don’t matter, but this $10 wine consistently scores 88 – 91 pts. It’s a nice wine and at this price you can buy it by the case.

QOTD: If I’m not feeling adventurous, I’ll go for a nice Riesling, usually German. But I like to kind of shoot from the hip and try new things whenever I go to the store. Sometimes it ends up being really bad, but that’s kind how things go sometimes.

QOTD: This changes a lot for me because there really is such a thing as vintage variation, even in warm cliamtes – for whites it is the Spy Valley (NZ) Sauvignon Blanc. For reds it used to be the Bodegas Nieto Malbec ($7 thank you very much) but I am switching to The Alamos Malbec from Catena ($8 thanks again).

Good show Gar, my pal and i enjoied it!

QOTD: its more like a go-to place than a go-to wine for me. I am still working my way through the hundreds of wineries (and wines) from the Napa/Sonoma valley areas. However, lately i have been venturing in to the French wines – mainly the ones you talk about.
